I stood under two palm trees, gazing at the breathtaking view of the beach. The beach was deserted and desolated, due to the death of my mum today. Gripping two cobblestones tightly in my trembling palm, I traced my fingers over the carefully carved engravings - symbols of remembrance for my mum. "Nathalie... when I find you..." Suddenly, I spotted a brown-haired figure walking along the street.
She was a brunette, with stunning shoulder-length hair. She held a Chanel bag, wearing a hot pink bodycon dress, with dark pink heels. I shoved the two pebbles into my pocket and strode over, scowling.
"Who gave you the courage to leave?!" I immediately grabbed her chin, causing her to glance up in shock. "Return to the mansion with me!"
Fear flickered in her eyes momentarily before she slapped my hand away, returning my glare. "Don't touch me!"
"Oh, so you can speak now, huh?" I scoffed, folding my arms in front of my chest.I mocked her newfound voice, folding my arms in front of my chest.
"You think I won't be able to recognize you under your disgusting makeup?!" I stared at her powder-covered face, with too much blush and overflowing mascara. "Your not going to just leave after murdering my mum!"
The girl's face paled. "W-what are you talking about?" She raised her Chanel bag in a defensive gesture, ready to strike me with it.
"You were trying to kill me in the basement, weren't you?!" The memory was blurry, but I could recall her attempting to smash a beer bottle over my head.
The color suddenly returned to the girl's face, relief flashing in her eyes. "You've mistaken me for the wrong person!" Desperate to prove her innocence, she retrieved her phone from her bag, hastily unlocking it to reveal her contact with CEO Adams
"How do you have Mr. Adams number?!"
Liam Adams was the most successful and wealthy business man in the world, being the age of forty-eight. Liam and I were great business partners.
"Liam is my dad! You don't want to get on my bad side!" She puffed out her chest, raising her chin.
I laughed, seizing her wrist. "You're putting on a good act, Nathalie, but you can't fool me. Just because no one knows about Liam's daughter's appearance doesn't mean you can pretend to be her."
The girl's face was flushed red in rage. "I understand that your Mum died today, but you don't act like a manic!"
The audacity of her speaking about my mother triggered a surge of anger within me, "You dare speak of my mother?!"
To my surprise, she thrust her phone in my face, revealing the messages exchanged between her and Liam, evidence of their father and daughter relationship..
I peered down at her skeptically.
"My name is Nancy Vanessa Adams! And I'm going to have my father cancel your collaboration with him!" She rose to her feet, the heels of her shoes sinking into the sand as she glowered at me.
I handed her her phone back and watched as she disappeared down the street. How could two people look so similar?
