I watched as Nathalie, gagged and tears flowing down her cheeks, was handed over to an fifty year old man. If my father, Lord, hadn't sent me to rescue her, I wouldn't even have cared if she was sold away; if I never saw her again. I had never liked that ugly, self-centered, child-like girl. She couldn't even talk! My heart belonged to Angelica, the girl I would willingly sacrifice everything for, the one I treasured above all else. When Nathalie was taken in, Lord knew when she grew up she was going to be a stubborn, foolish girl. That was why my father had forced me to pretend to love her, to be her friend, to always be there for her and give up my love for Angelica. Until.. until.. she killed Chase. Then, I could marry Angelica.
But now... I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my flesh. But now.. three years ago, Angelica disappeared with her money. No matter how hard I tried to find her, I couldn't.
My teeth gritted in frustration, my gaze hardened upon the brown-haired figure standing before me. Nathalie had ruined everything. Once I helped her take Chase's life, I'll kill her myself. Lord wouldn't mind. However, if I got rid of her before Chase was killed, the Lord would be sure to kick me out and end all relationships with me.
I couldn't afford to be homeless and penniless.
I watched as the bald man expressionlessly received a suitcase of money and left. He quickly disappeared from view and the older man roughly yanked her toward his waiting truck. He locked the latches securing the truck doors, however when he got inside the front of the truck, I unlocked the latches. The engine roared to life and I leaped into the truck, the doors flapping as he pulled away.
Nathalie, who was laying on the floor, finally noticed me when I softly called her name. Raising her head, her hair cascading like loose threads, she peered at me with hope sparkling in her eyes. Her hands were tied behind her back, but she mouthed my name, hope sparkling in her eyes.
"Nathalie, don't worry, I'm here to save you." I rushed over to her, swiftly setting her hands free. She stared at me with tears in her eyes and embraced me, sobbing into my chest. I felt the front of my shirt getting soaked and I resisted the urge to shove her away.
Unwillingly, I padded her back. "It's okay, Nat, I'm here now."
I thought I would never see you again, she communicated.
No one cares.
Gently wiping away her tears, I urged her, "Let's escape from here." Nathalie hesitated, casting a wary glance outside.
The truck was old, but still moving at a quick pace.
"Don't worry, baby, I'll protect you." I gently held her hand and walked towards the edge of the truck. I enveloped her with my arms, pressing a kiss atop her head "I won't let you get hurt." I felt disgusted just by touching her.
Nathalie nodded and we leaped out of the truck. I landed on the pavement on my back, my head hitting one of the poles and my back and legs skimming against the gravel. The world spun around me.
"Anthony!"
She was laying on my chest, unharmed, her face full of concern. I don't need your damn worry!
"Nathalie... are you okay?" I managed to choke out, blood bubbling up my throat.
"Anthony!" She hurriedly crawled off of my chest, helping me sit up. Tears brimmed in her eyes and she gasped as she saw my back. "Your clothing is ripped and... there's blood and cuts!"
I strained a smile, stroking her chin. "As long as your unharmed, I'm happy."
Pfft. After all this is over, I will torment you until you are on your knees, begging like a dog. I will torture you until your face becomes an indistinct, bloody, monstrous mess. Until your body is frail and feeble, marked by fresh wounds. Then, I will burn you alive.
Blood trickled down the corners of my mouth.
"Anthony!"
Stop calling my name! It sounds terrible when coming out from your stupid mouth.
I wiped away the blood and slowly stood up. "Nathalie, you have to kill Chase. If I hadn't came in time to save you, you would have been dead!"
Nathalie chewed her bottom lip, her hands trembling. "I... I..."
"Your too kind, Nathalie! He's going to attempt to sell you off again!" I coughed, blood sputtering out of my mouth. Nathalie gasped, hurriedly holding my arm to support me.
Nathalie is such a weak, dumb girl. Unlike Angelica.
"Look, I even got hurt to save you. You want me to continuously get hurt because of you?"
"I..."
I purposely clutched my chest and forced a painful expression. "I mean.. if you want me to get hurt for you I can..."
"No, no! Let's go kill him right now! I don't want you injured!"
I smiled. "Let's head to his mansion."
