CHAPTER 7

I darted my eyes around the boat, only seeing water and mist.

I'm glad that no one decided to attack us in our current situation.

"The mist is so thick. I can't see what's ahead." Sakura sighed.

No? Really Sakura?

I resisted the urge to express my thoughts, just to avoid arguments with her. I just sighed and leaned back against the wooden walls of the boat in my seat, which was next to Naruto.

"Hey Sayuri-chan, what's your favorite ramen flavor?" Naruto suddenly asked me.

"Hmmmm, I never thought of it. I can eat almost everything. But I mostly eat tonkotsu ramen." I informed him.

"If you always eat tonkotsu ramen, doesn't it making your favorite?" Naruto asked confusedly.

"Nah. Just because I always eat tonkotsu, doesn't mean it's my favorite. It's just served faster than any ramen."

"Y-yeah tonkotsu is delicious, but I like miso ramen more." Naruto said, he's drooling OMG!

"No one asked you Naruto!" I teased him, making him anime fall.

"Sayuri, you can't eat ramen! It's full of calories and disgusting stuff. And it will make you fat." Sakura exclaimed with a disgusted look on her face.

"Do you see any fats on me Sakura? Luckily I have good genes, staying slim is not my problem. Unlike you, I'm not starving myself to get slim." I said, and this time I can't stop my urge to express my thoughts .

She scowled at me and making anyone on the boat sweat drop, well except Naruto and Sasuke.

"Y-y-your awesome Sayuri-chan." Naruto stuttered dreamily.

I just wave my hand at him and wink.

"We should be able to see the bridge soon... if we travel alongside the bridge, we'll arrive at the land of waves." The boat man informed us. As we get closer, a wooden structure appeared trough the mist.

"Whoa, it's huge!" Naruto and I exclaimed loudly in unison, earning a bonk on both of our heads from Kakashi, who is sitting behind us.

"What was that for?" Naruto questioned incredulously, rubbing his head.

"Quiet, the boat man told us no noise." Kakashi said, ignoring mine and Naruto's glare.

Instead of glaring at Kakashi, I looked on the bridge instead. I smiled as I craned my neck to look at it properly.

It's really big... must be a pretty important thing.

"Mr. Tazuna, before we reach the pier, I want to ask you something. Who is the men after you, and why? If you don't tell us, I'm afraid I'll have to end this mission when we drop you ashore." Kakashi's question perked the interest of my teammates. We all looked at Tazuna expectantly, waiting for his answers.

The old geezer was silent for what felt like an eternity before answering.

"It looks like I have to tell you the real story." Tazuna sighed, rubbing his temples like he has some headache or something.

"No, really?" I just have to say with a mock surprise, making Naruto snicker. I poke my tongue and wink at him.

If Tazuna heard me, he made a great job on not acknowledging me. Bastard.

"I mean, I would like for you to hear my story. As you have said, this mission is most likely out of your job description."

"Most likely?" I asked incredulously.
