Saving Hook

Part 13. First kiss

EMMAS POINT OF VIEW:

I hear someone, calling my name. Is it really who I think it is? I whirl around and see a shadow. It's a figure of a man. The man repeats my name again, and I know with all my heart who it is. Hook.

"Hook? Is that really you!" I say even though I am positive.

"Yes, love it's me!" Hook says yelling across the fire, which has barricaded us.

"What are you doing here?" I ask yelling across the fire.

"Wha- What? I can't hear you! I'm going to jump over." Hook gets a running start, and jumps through the fire.

My heart skips a beat when I finally see him clearly, but when he comes closer to me I am terrified. I stare at him in shock, and see cuts peaking out of his ripped shirt. The marks all over him look like they must of been from today, because all of them look so red and fresh. And his face, it looks so pale, as if his whole soul was drained away from his body. The bags under his eyes are so puffy, it looks like he barley gets any sleep. Then his eyes. The once beautiful ocean blue eyes, were now like a sea during a storm. I must of been backing away from Hook while I was staring, because he looks so pained from me fearing him.

"Emma." he says softly. His voice is different also.

I stop backing away from him and think. Is this the fires doing, or is it from Rumplestilskin? And why is he here in a sleeping curse with me? I close my thoughts, and take a deep breath replying shakily "What happened to you?"

Hook closes his eyes and comes closer to me, because I had limited us five feet apart. "Rumplestilkin." He says with staggered breaths.

"What has he been doing to you?" I say, my voice starts to crack, because I can't imagine what Hook has gone through.

Hook looks away from me, as if I was a bomb going to explode if he was to stare. "He- he didn't do anything at first. It felt like a jail for the first day. But it was the second day- he started to torture me. For answers..." Hook says, trailing off.

"Answers for what Hook?" I say, scared out of my mind to find out what it is.

Hook still looking anywhere but me says "Answers for finding- you. You, Emma, are the one that can complete the power of Rumplestilkin's plan to cleave himself from the dagger."

I have no words for everything Hook has told me. Why me? I mean, I know I have the power that I was born with, but I had never thought it could mean I could complete something so powerful. I start to realize that if I help Rumplestilskin with what ever plan has, I can save Hook from his misery.

"Let help Rumplestilskin with his plan, and I can save you." I say nodding to confirm what I said.

But Hook shakes his head madly around and says "No Emma. There is a huge price!"

"Well, what is it?!" I say almost yelling at him for not giving me straight answers.

Hook finally looks at me and says "The price of having you completing his power is your death."

This is not what I was expecting. The price is my death? My thoughts are so jumbled, my mind is racing.

"I have to do something. I can't bare to see you like this!" I say emotionally.

"No Emma! Don't come and get me, that's exactly what he wants! If one of our lives are going to be taken, I'd rather it be me!" Hook says totally losing it.

"Look at what he has done to you! It looks like you've been hurt to your breaking point. And I can't help but feel like it's my fault!" I say desperately, hoping he'll understand.

"Emma, as hard as it is for you to believe, I need you to not go after me. Rumplestilskin has taken everything I had. He's taken my hand, he's taken half my life in Neverland, and now he's even tortured me. I can't bare to think that if you come, he will take your life also. I just can't have him win Emma! I just can't." Hook says, looking like he could melt with all of his tears.

I fill the space between us, and put my arms over his shoulders and whisper in his ear "But what if I can win?" I say with a small smile. Hook pulls away and has a look of confusion on his face. I keep explaining, "What if I find a way to defeat Rumplestilskin?"

Hook scrunches his eyebrows together and pounders over my thought. "No. I can't let it by chance that you might die. I care about you to much Emma." Hook says, putting my hair behind my ears.

I remove myself from his grasp, and look directly into his eyes saying "Did it ever occur to you that I care about you also?"

Before Hook could respond, I quickly put my arms around his neck and connect my lips with his. After a second, he is fully aware and he puts his arms around my waist, bringing me closer and closer to him. Our kiss becomes needy, because for the first time, we both admitted our love for each other. The kiss deepens, and I run my hands through Hook's tangled brown hair, trying to make no space between us anymore. Suddenly, I start to feel vibration going all throughout my body, and Hook notices it also and let's me go.

"What's happening to me?" I say worriedly.

"Your waking up. Your vanishing." He says sadly.

"No! I want to stay!" I say desperately.

"There's nothing you can do Emma." Hook says, putting his head down.

"I'm coming for you Hook. Just wait and see. I'm going to save you from Rumplestilskin if it's the last thing I do."

"Emma don't-" And that's the last thing I hear Hook say before I see light. I left Hook alone, in the burning red room.
