throughout the rest of our evening together, we pretended that nothing happened. i tried not to think about it, because if i did the negative thoughts would grow and this evening memory of us would be spoiled by my anger.

i should be happier, i should be able to smile genuinely. within a second of her sharing this news with me, all the questions i could ever think of were about to spill out of my mouth.

why are you leaving? when did you apply? why did you apply? how could you not tell me? is there something wrong with telling me? this is all out of no where. is it really? did i do something wrong?

we went to an arcade and she somehow won us an stuffed elephant from one of the claw machines. as i watched her face and how focused she seemed, i tried to study every single little detail about her. but my thoughts always came to the conclusion that,

she's leaving me.
