***Jen's Point Of View***

I stood, mouth agape, looking at the dead bodies of the SWAT men. They must have been sent to come and find me, but the Ring Master got them with...whatever he decided to use. I was scared, my heart was beating so fast. My vision became blurry with tears as I covered my ears.

I was going to start bawling my eyes out, wasn't I? I could feel it bubbling in the back of my throat, forcing me to whimper. Just as I began to cry, I saw woman out of the corner of my eye. She was running at me at top speed.

I screamed, standing up to my feet. Though she wasn't mutilated, she was wielding a knife. And that was enough to scare me. 'I am going to DIE...' I thought to myself as the woman tackled me to the ground. I grabbed her wrists, pushing them upward away from me. The knife she held was it inches away from me. She shrieked at me saying things like "Die bitch!" And, "I am going to tear your guts out!" I screamed and kicked her in the stomach, causing her to fall.

I tried to run but she quickly grabbed my leg causing me to fall. She pulled at my clothes, trying to stab me. I kept kicking her, causing her to get a bloody nose. And that just made her anger worse. She managed to punch me and get on top of me, yanking my hair.

When I pushed her, she must have dropped the knife because she was relying on brute strength rather than stabbing me. I gripped for the knife because I had dropped my gun but the slapped me across the face. I saw her eyes shift and she grinned, reaching near above me.

"Well now..." She cooed, pulling back holding the gun, "I didn't realize you'd dropped this!" I screamed, just as she was about to shoot me, I pushed her off of my body.

Her finger still triggered the gun, and my arm was wounded by the bullet. It didn't go through, but it scrapped the skin and tore my jacket sleeve. I cried out in pain and kicked the woman across the face causing her to fall. I rapidly started stomping on her head. She passed out and I was able to get away, but ny arm was still in throbbing pain.

I yanked the gun out of her hands and grabbed the knife, holding them with me as I limped through the park. Thank God Drake found me, otherwise I probably would've died. I nearly blacked out, falling into his arms. "What happened? What happened to your arm?" I tried to speak but I was far too weary from blood loss.

I felt Drake lift me up off of my feet, cradling me like a child. I buried my face in his chest, weeping as he walked. I felt his hand rub my back as he whispered into my ear. "It's okay, Jen. It's all going to be okay..." He whispered, "I'll protect you, I promise you, I will protect you."

***Drake's Point Of View***

"It sounds a lot like it was the Ring Master's wife was th  one that attacked you."

"It could have been..."

Jen winced as I wrapped her wound in cloth, I knew it probably hurt a lot but it was the best I could do. Her face was stained with tears, and every time she spoke her voice scratched from her screaming. I felt terrible. "You should lay down." I said, pulling the covers over her, "You lost a lot of blood." She nodded and played down, laying her head on the pillow.

After she fell asleep, I kissed her on the cheek. Causing her to grin. I smiled at her before leaving the tent. Just as I left, I could see the Ring Master walking around the park. I felt my heart beat fast as he approached me. I tried to pretend that it didn't bother me and continued walking.

"Drake! Baby!" He shouted, as if he were trying to gain my trust, "Hey, do you have any idea why I found my wife beaten bloody laying in the dirt?" I shook my head, trying to keep a straight face. "Oh..." He grinned at me, "Well that's funny, because when she regained consciousness she said that it was Jen that did it to her." I felt my heart beat quickly, I prayed that he wouldn't search my tent.

"I've got it under control." I said, my voice deep and scratchy, "You won't have to worry about her. Leave it to me." He nodded before walking away. I was relieved when he walked past my tent without looking at it. After he was gone, I ran back to the tent. It startled Jen, but she let out a a sigh of relief when she saw that it was me.

"What's wrong? You look like you've seen..." She trailed off, "Something worse than what you're used to." "We need to find a better place to hide." I said nervously, "The Ring Master is getting more and more aware of this whole thing we have going here, and I don't want him hurting you. Or pulling out the thing he used on the SWAT team." Jen suddenly looked terrified.

She sprang out of the bed and began folding up up the quilt. Then she grabbed the old briefcase I used as a nightstand and stuffed it inside. "We have to find a new spot." She aid, her voice shaking, "Not just for me, but for you too." She began to shove more and more things into the briefcase to the point that she couldn't fill it anymore. "C'mon, let's go!"

"Jen, there isn't anywhere else we can go!" I shouted grabbing her shoulder, "He'll find us! And I can't leave the park, I'm a freak, remember?" "He is going to kill you!" She yelled, swatting my hand off of her shoulder.

"He's going to go after you first, Jennifer!"

"I don't care!"

"Do you not value living!?"

"I don't want to live if I'm going to loose you!"

I stood, mouth agape, looking at the Irish girl before me. Her eyes pooled with tears as she looked up at me. "I don't want to loose you, Drake..." She said, her voice shaking, "I...I love you, Drake. And I don't want to live without you." I felt my heart beat fast as blood rushed to my cheeks, causing me to blush. "D-do you really?-" I was cut off by her shouting again, "Yes!"

My face grew warmer and my heartbeat became rushed. It became even worse when she suddenly decided to hug me. I hesitated to hug her back but soon found myself embracing her. I could it believe it. She loved me. She actually loved me! That just deepened my fear of losing her though. It made things much, mush worse. Because that meant I'd be losing the only person that cared about me.

I couldn't lose her.

I just couldn't.

My existence was pointless enough as-is, I didn't need to have even less of a reason to live.

I couldn't do it.
