The Class

"Did you finish the assignment?" Hermione will ask, clutching her textbooks close to her chest as we make our way to the potions classroom. She will be referring to the homework that Snape will have assigned the class a few days before, an essay on the effects of the invigoration Draught.

"Obviously, do you think I'd rather face the wrath of Snape?" I will giggle, terrified of the consequences I would face if I hadn't done it. I will have watched Harry and Ron get reprimanded enough to know that it is not fun.

"True," She will nod as we step into the potions classroom, which will already be full of chatting students. We will go to our normal desk, one that was on the right-most side, in the middle of the classroom. Harry and Ron will already be there, at the desk next to us.

"Good morning, class," Snape will drawl, gliding to the front of his desk. "Put your completed essays onto my desk, and then we will start the process of brewing the Invigoration Draught."

"Here, Daisy, I'll take yours!" Hermione will say brightly, holding out her hand, with the other already holding onto her own long essay.

"Thanks!" I will flash her a grin as I place the paper in her hand. I will clear the desk of all our books, putting them onto the floor, so that we will have enough space to make the potion.

Once the class will have settled down after handing in their essays, Snape will walk towards the chalkboard. "Here are your instructions," He will wave his wand, steps appearing on the chalkboard. "You have an hour and a half. You may start now."

"Oi, Novak!" Draco Malfoy will waltz over to my desk, a playful tone laced in his voice. "Fancy being my partner?" He will have his familiar smirk playing on his lips as he leans over the edge of my desk.

"Why would you want to work with me?" I will ask suspiciously, folding my arms. He never talks to me when he had good intentions, so I will suspect that this would be the same.

"Because you're smart," He will say slyly, his eyebrows raised. "And everyone wants to be with me anyways, so consider yourself lucky."

"No," I will refuse, shaking my head.

"No? You'll regret that," Malfoy will scoff.

"Bugger off, Malfoy," Harry will roll his green eyes, irritated by Malfoy, as usual. The blond boy will throw a glare at him before walking back over to his two cronies, Crabbe and Goyle.

"Why does he keep bothering you?" Hermione will huff, annoyed as she was every time Malfoy pulled this kind of stunt.

"Because he's an annoying person who thinks he deserves the world?" I will suggest, not seeing any other reason for his prestigious mindset.

"Probably," She will laugh, agreeing with me. "Anyways, I already grabbed the ingredients, so let's start," She will gesture towards the varying objects laying around the cauldron.

After an hour and a half of hard work, Snape will make his rounds to the cauldrons, sneering at the ones that weren't so good, and ignoring the ones that were fine.

"Adequate," Snape will sniff as he walks past us, peering into our finished potion.

"Adequate? I think it's more than adequate," Hermione will mutter as soon as Snape will have been out of earshot. "Honestly, why does he hate us so much?"

"Other than the fact that we're friends with Harry? I guess because we're not Slytherins," I will answer, filling a clear vial with our gold-coloured potion. I will quickly label it with our names and get up. "I'll go bring it to his desk."

I will walk over to his desk, unfortunately getting there at the same time as Malfoy, who will eye my potion. I will glance over at his, which was more of a light brown colour, meaning that his was done wrong.

"I don't think yours is the proper colour," Malfoy's nervous expression swiftly will change into a smug one, trying to convince me that my potion was made incorrectly.

"Really?" I will raise my eyebrows. "Because I'm pretty sure the textbook said that it should be this colour."

His pale cheeks slightly will pinken from being caught in his lie, and he will quickly walk back to his own desk. I will put my vial down and will walk back to Hermione, who had watched the whole thing.

"Being an idiot again?" She will ask sympathetically.

"As usual," I will nod, glaring at Malfoy, who will be looking at me out of the corner of his eye.

"I can't believe we have four different classes with Slytherins, they ruin class every time," Ron will complain to us, crossing his arms as Harry filled their vial. "Whoever made this schedule must have something against us."

"Yes Ron, I'm sure that they specifically targeted the four of us so that we would suffer," Hermione will roll her eyes in amusement, shaking her bushy brown hair as she grabs her books.

"Exactly! I'm so glad you understand," Ron will grin as we began to make our way towards our Charms class, the Slytherins unfortunately following us there.

We will enter the classroom, students filing in behind us as we make our way to the spots that we usually sit in.

"Today, you'll be practicing the Leg-Locker Curse on a partner!" Flitwick will announce as the class starts. "Now, now, settle down. Last time we did partnered work, there was barely any work going on, so I am going to be choosing partners for today," Flitwick will say sternly, silencing the class as they begin to pair up themselves.

A collective groan will go through the class, disappointed at their luck. "I already formed the partners, they are on the board," Flitwick will flourish his wand, making the names appear onto the black chalkboard.

"Ugh, I'm with Crabbe," Hermione will wrinkle her nose in disgust. I will laugh at her misfortune, which will be soon silenced as soon as I read who my partner will be.

"Malfoy? Are you kidding?" I will complain. He told me I would regret rejecting him as a partner during the last class, so getting to use this charm on me would definitely give him the chance to do so.

"Ooh, that sucks. At least he's not as dense as mine?" Hermione will offer as reassurance, giving me a sympathetic smile.

"At least yours won't be able to actually bind your legs together," I will rreply, not feeling any better than I did before.

"You've got a point there," She will grin. "Maybe you should've been his partner for potions."

"Never in a million years," I will laugh, shaking my head.
