Paige-

"So, what did Maya want this morning?" I question. I know this might be a little too much for him to handle right now.

He looks down for a second and then back up. "She just said she regrets what she did and that-" he stops for a breather. "She wants a 2nd chance to prove her loyalty."

Wow, I hope he doesn't take her back.

"Oh, what did you say to her?" I probably should've left the conversation at that but my curiosity is getting the better of me.

"I said I'll think about it." Fair enough.

She'll 100% break his heart all over again.

I nod knowing to leave the conversation there. We sit in silence for a little bit before the girl comes back over with our milkshake. She smiles and leaves it down on the table.

"Here you go." She then walks away sticking her hip out on each step. Yuck.

There are two straws. I grab one and take a big slurp, I close my eyes taking in the flavour of the chocolate.

So good.

He grabs his straw and takes a slurp too. We let go of our straws and giggle. "You- have something there." He points to above my lip. I try and get it off with my tongue. "Did I get it?"

He shakes his head and leans over wiping it carefully with his finger.

He sits back in his chair with a smile on his face. I let out a low nervous laugh.

"So, what do you think about Marcus and Maria?"
I slurp more of the milkshake.

"Marcus has a huge crush on her." He replies putting his hands behind his head. "Oh my god, Maria has a huge crush on him too." I squeal, this is so exciting.

I jump about in my seat for a little before looking up to meeting his gaze already settled on me. "Who do you have a crush on?" He asks so unwillingly.

Boy? He 100% knows this answer.

I shrug and smirk at the same time. "Who do you have a crush on, Jackson?" I ask.

"Im not telling you if you don't tell me."

Oh so he wants to play this game.

"Well he's got deep blue eyes, with a tint of green in them, and he has fluffy brown hair, your turn."

Two can play this game.

He chuckles, "She has bright green eyes and long blonde hair." He shrugs fixing his seating position.

"Go on." I say.

"She wears glasses and has this cute smile that lights up the world." He's fully looking at me in the eyes at this stage.

"She also has a big thing for marvel and has a younger brother who's name is ha-"

Our conversation is cut off by a cough. "Here's your meals." The girl says placing them down on each side.

"Thank you."
"Thanks very much."

We both don't hesitate to dig into our burgers.

"Here's the bill. I hope you enjoyed your food." The lady puts the bill down on the table.

I quickly grab cash from my pocket but before I know it the girl is already taking the bill away. I stutter.

"Wait wait, I'll- pay!" She stops and turns around.

"No, it's fine." Jackson says to her. She turns and walks away.

"Jackson, We could've split it."

He shakes his head. "Don't worry about it."

I just nod and we grab our things and get up. Jackson takes something out of his pocket and places it on the table quickly.

It's the piece of napkin that the girl gave him. I stand there for a second shocked. I thought he would use it.

He shrugs and gives me his usual smirk. "I told you, you have nothing to worry about Paigy."

He walks ahead and I follow him.

We haven't heard anything from Marcus or Maria yet so we decide to walk home.

"So how's things with you and Hudson now?" I ask while we make our way down the side walk.

"I'm not talking to him anymore. It's hard with football and all though." I nod at his response.

"Yeah I mean I would be the same as you. Bro code? Does it not exist to him?" I wave my hands about for emphasis. He laughs at my actions.

"Literally, they deserve each other at this stage."  He kicks a stone in front of him.

I can feel the anger steaming off him right now. I can tell he is very annoyed at both of them and trust me I would be too. What they did was disgusting and definitely not forgivable.

We continue to walk for a while in silence but with each step I can hear his breath being inhaled and exhaled in the cold. It's quite calming.

All of a sudden our hands gently rub off each other. I can feel the spark between us.

He stops all of a sudden. I turn around to look at him and his attentions on his hand.

I wonder if he felt what i felt.

He runs his other hand over it gently. "Everything okay?" I ask softly.

He looks up slowly and sighs deeply. I take a step towards him.

"Paige."

I look up to face Jackson. He tucks a strand of my hair behind my ear and I close my eyes at his touch.

Next his fingers brush over my cheek. I exhale feeling as light as a feather at this very moment.

"So beautiful." He mumbles and I open my eyes to see an emotion in his eyes that makes me melt instantly.

"So handsome." I reply grinning. He chuckles lightly and takes his hand off my cheek. The cold of the night fades away as his body heat starts to overwhelm me. He looks past my head.

"We should get going it's almost 11pm." He mumbles.

I just nod. I cannot comprehend what just happened. My stomach is filled with butterflies and my head is scrambled.

Did that just happen?
