I always knew that Wilbur would be supportive of me no matter what. He's always been extremely loving and patient with me. Despite how his music might make him sound, he's actually a really amazing boyfriend. 

I've been trying for weeks to think of a way to come out to Will as nonbinary. Since when we started dating I still went by she/her I'm not quite sure how he'll respond to me telling him that I'm not really comfortable with those pronouns anymore. I've known for a while now that I didn't identify with either gender but I just haven't come out to very many people yet. 

I decided that today I'm just going to come out to him officially. After thinking about it a lot, I figured that I should really just remember that he's always been accepting of me. 

I walk to Will's apartment. I live just down the hall from him. When I get there I take a few deep breaths and knock on the door. He opens only a minute or so later with his usual gorgeous, soft-boy smile. 

"Well, this is a surprise."He says. 

"I just wanted to see you."

"You're adorable. Do you want to come inside?"

"I'd like that."

He opens his door the rest of the way and lets me inside. He shuts the door behind me then pulls me to him. I look up at him. 

"Is something on your mind, Sweetheart?"He asks. 

"I have to tell you something."

"Oh? Is it bad?"

"No. Not at all."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

I kiss him a few more times and wrap my arms around his neck. 

"So I've been trying to tell you for a while, but I wasn't quite sure how to say it. But I'm non-binary. I didn't want to freak you out or anything."I say.

"Okay. What are your pronouns?"

"They/Them."

"Thank you for telling me."

I smile. He hugs me tight. I rest my head on his chest. 

"Thank you for being so good to me all the time."I say.

"Of course. I just want to make you happy."

"You do."

"I hope so."

He kisses the top of my head lovingly. 

"Do you have a preferred name too?"He asks. 

"Mhm. It's (Your Preferred Name)."

"I like it. It fits you really well."

"Thank you."

"Mhm."
