ᵗᵉˡˡ ᵐᵉ ˣ ˢᵃᵇʳⁱⁿᵃ ᶜˡᵃᵘᵈⁱᵒ ⁽ ᵃᶜᵒᵘˢᵗⁱᶜ ⁾it had been a few weeks since quez had sent that small open ended threat to honey, since then she had found herself slowly distancing away her potential partner.
honey had drowned herself in work and used it as a excuse as to why they couldn't see each other or have a five minute phone conversation. boog had noticed her switch and wasn't too found of it.
he had thought they'd been doing pretty good and after that night, he was sure they were working their way up to the next in their growing relationship.
truth be told, honey was afraid. she had allowed herself to overthink everything. in her mind she was ready, but she wasn't ready and the thought of allowing someone else to be her emotional crutch was frightening. she wasn't ready to fall because she didn't he'd catch her.
onto present day, honey was stocking shelves and adding price tag stickers onto the jars of body butters and squeeze bottles of hair oils.
business today was buzzing and people had been in and out, she even had a bigger morning rush crowd than usual which was new.
"handsome drug dealer, nine o'clock." kiko mumbled as he slipped passed honey.
a small sigh left her lips and she sat the price tag gun on an empty shelf as boog walked over to her.
"you got a minute or you too busy today?" he asked her as he leaned on one of the racks occupying her space.
"she's got time," erica said and grabbed the price tag gun from the shelf then lightly moving honey out the way.
"yeah," honey mumbled and followed boog out of the store wiping her clammy hands on her jeans.
the couple sat at a picnic table that was stationed under a oak tree on the corner of the small plaza. honey hadn't said anything, she just folded her lip and played with her hands.
"you want me ta leave you alone? not sayin i will, but wassup witchu?" boog asked as he eyed her and took in her current body language.
within the few months of them knowing each other, he could tell when honey wasn't herself and this was one of those times.
honey shrugged, "i'm scared."
