i took a deep breath before knocking on armani's front door, i wasn't even sure if he was home but i was about to find out.
i could hear small sounds coming from inside before the door opened and i was scared to look up from my feet.
"why you here?" he asked and i furrowed my eyebrows before chuckling to myself.
"because daja told me to tell you to call her," i said and the look on his face unreadable.
"how you know her?" he questioned.
"i could ask you the same thing especially since you referring to you as armani and not boog like everybody else, so i might as well do the same thing." i said to him.
"it ain't even like that." he stressed.
"it must be, i haven't seen you weeks! you don't answer my calls, my text, nothin. kari asked me the other day if you don't like us anymore and i didn't even know what to tell her."
"i'm up from sun up to sun down worried sick about yo stupid ass and you got females coming up to me with the audacity to play messenger for ya'll,"
"i cry almost every night for you, armani. i pray for you, i pray that you're still alive, i pray that you're safe every day, evenin, night, whatever time of day."
"i call for you and you don't come, i'm scared to walk out of my house because i fear for my life and my child's but i came here today for you."
"i told naomi that i'd rather them take me than kari or you because i love you and-" i stopped talking as the three words slipped from my lips with ease.
"you can come by the house and get your things." i didn't even want to finish my ramble as he stood there emotionless.
i walked down the three steps and everything happened so fast.
i felt every bullet that pierced into my flesh, i felt the prickles of the grass that brushed my skin when i came down, and i could feel his presence and his tears that fell onto me.
"keep yo eyes open ja'dor, you hear me?" he called out.
"fuck man!" i heard him scream in anger.
