Trial of the Trinity 4

Heartbreak

(Clark entered the Watchtower carrying 4 boxes of his favorite pizza, and the milkshakes are so thick you have to eat them with a spoon)

(He used his super hearing to see if anyone was there, he figured Diana would be since she'd been holed up in there for weeks, he was hoping to try and cheer her up tonight..but then he heard it)

(The unmistakable sound of Diana kissing someone..Clark was used to being on the receiving end of it but knowing that wasn't the case this time made his heart sink)

(Clark took a breath and used his x-ray vision, hoping to prove his suspicions wrong...but it was to no avail when he saw her with Bruce...)

(Clark's stomach tightened into knots as he braced himself against the wall for support, his worst fear had returned..and this time there was no silver Meteor rock or Clayface to blame...this was real..all too real)

(Tears flooded his vision as he flew towards the exit, Diana reached him just as he was about to leave)

Diana: "Clark wait!"

(He stopped and turned to face her, the hurt in his eyes instantly making Diana feel extreme guilt)

Clark: "Don't worry..Diana. I'm not mad. I guess I always knew it would come to this. I knew it was too good to be true. You and me."

Diana: "Clark I'm so.."

Clark: "I won't interfere. But I am quitting the team. I can't..I can't be around you two anymore. Goodbye, Diana."

(With that, he flew out into space, leaving Diana crying in a ball on the floor)
