I made my way downstairs, surprised to see my father standing in the kitchen, placing food into containers like he normally did for his weekly lunches. "Don't you work today?" I asked as he shook his head. "I wanted to but they said I'm working too much so they're making me stay home." He sighed.

"Good, you need a break." I laughed, walking over to the kitchen and sitting down onto the bar stools that sat at the island.

"I enjoy working." He shrugged. "Anyway, did Connie stay?" He looked up towards me for a moment as I shook my head. "No, he left around 3." I replied.

"May I ask why he was shirtless?" He raised an eyebrow.

'You know damn well why, dad...'

"He just got hot while we were cuddling." I smiled, hoping it'd convince him a little more. "Hmm," he hummed. "I want you to be honest with me."

'Here we go.'

"Were you still seeing Colt not to long ago?" He looked up at me and I knew damn well he knew so there was no point in lying. "Did Mikey tell you?" I asked.

"He was just looking out for you." Dad replied, sealing one of the containers and sitting it to the side before he crossed his arms and leaned against the counter. "(Y/n), are you still seeing him?"

"I stopped a couple weeks ago..." I sighed.

"And how long has Connie been in the picture?" He asked.

"Well... like 4 weeks but nothing was really initiated until last week." I sighed. "Dad, look-"
"Do you like him?" He cut me off making my jaw clench. "Connie, yes. Colt, no." I replied.

"Colt isn't welcome in this house and if I find out he was in here again I'm gonna kindly ask you to get your own place." He sternly stated, making me tense up. 'He's serious about this...'

"Dad-" "No." he stopped me. "He put his hands on you, cheated on you, constantly argued with you, he wasn't even there for you when your mother died, not to mention him constantly making you cry and yet you still wanna give yourself to him?" He laughed in disbelief before pinching the bridge of his nose and turning away from me, something he did when he was upset or disappointed.

"I'm sorry..." I apologized, looking away from him. "I just- I liked the attention but I blocked him and he's gone now and it's just Connie who is actually really sweet-" "Colt was really sweet too, wasn't he?" My father's words made me tense up even more, my hands clenching into tight firsts. 'He's right...'

"I'm not trying to be discouraging and I'm not saying you shouldn't give love another shot." He heavily sighed. "But to know that after 6 months you were still seeing him is upsetting..."

"We didn't talk for 4 of those months..." I sighed. "Sounds to me like someone's just bitter." I stood from the barstool.

"Wanna tell me what you mean by that, (y/n)?" He smacked his hands onto the counter, the loud noise making me jump. "I'm not bitter for wanting my daughter to be careful. I've let you handle yourself this entire time but having Mikey tell me you're still fucking around, in my house might I add, with the very man who looked you dead in the eyes when your mother died and told you to suck it up, I'm gonna be pissed!" He yelled, making me choke up. "Now you're seeing Mikey's coach, suddenly, and he's this perfect guy who you've only known for a week." He sighed. "You barely know hi-" "why do you suddenly give a fuck what goes on in my life?" I turned to him, doing everything in my power to not cry. "You spend all your time at work, I take care of Mikey and his bullshit, now suddenly you wanna pull the 'this is my house' card." I rolled my eyes, turning away.

"Because it is my house and sorry I don't want my daughter bringing her shitty ex in here so he can use her for her body!-" "I'm not gonna do it anymore!" I turned back to him. "Do you fucking listen?! I was using him too! He's in the past now!"
