Edmund sat at his desk, covering a bruise left by his father, even thinking about the previous events made him shiver.

Edmund walk into his house hearing loud yelling coming from the kitchen "YOU LYING LITTLE BITCH!" Edmund immediately knew what was happening and ran to the kitchen. He flinched as he watched his mother get slapped, the 16 year old boy ran to his mother, trying to pry his father off, his dad turned to him, eyes full of anger "YOU KNEW ABOUT THIS, DIDN'T YOU!" "NO I SWEAR!"

Edmunds mom; Nancy, found out her husband was having an affair with his co-worker, so instead of confronting him, she simply told his co-worker that Nancy was his wife, and to tell Rich; her husband, that they were over, this angered the man, as almost everything does, and he immediately came home.

"LET GO OF ME! YOU FAGGOT!" Rich yelled punching Edmund right is the eye "you weak little shit!" He crouched down to his son, before quickly getting back up, kicking Edmund in the stomach, he proceeding to slam the front door of the house.

Edmund swallowed thickly as he continued to apply the makeup to his bruised eye. Suddenly he heard the front door open and a bit of shuffling before a gun shot. Edmund immediately jumped from his chair and ran out of his room, he ran to the living room, seeing a shadow and another gun shot, blood splattering all over the wall.

Edmund entered the kitchen, looking in shock as he saw both parents laying on the ground, a gun in his dads hand, Edmund shed a tear as he slowly slid down the door frame, crumbling into a ball as he hid in his knees.

Suddenly a women appeared, "my dear child" she said, giving a sad smile to the 16 year old "it'll all be okay, we understand you. But you have to make a choice" she said, quiet as a whisper, Edmund looked up to her, confused as to what she was referring to. "You can stay here- or come with me to my orphanage for kids who are like you" she paused a bit before continuing "that is, if you want to use your peculiarity freely" he looked to the woman in awe, how did she know? The woman put a hand out for the boy, Edmund looked at it for a bit before taking her hand. She brought the boy to his feet and they suddenly disappeared.

I'm actually pretty proud at how well this turned out, I'm also hoping this will be a first finished story as I loose interest in things super easily, expect for miss peregrines home for peculiar children, my love for it just never ends
