Leaving him was the hardest thing she ever had to do, and now that she was looking at herself in her vanity, brushing out her waves, she had time to dwell on it. Tonight was the night that she'd come face to face with him again. After so many decades, is there really a way to say anything?
"Hey, sorry that you thought I was dead, Surprise?!" Elysia said sarcastically to herself, throwing her brush in frustration.
She didn't ever think she'd be in this situation. Her country and kingdom were left in good hands. It was only safe that she and her family leave - To show that her mother didn't die for nothing. And now they were going back.
She knew her fathers were discussing it. They had been talking about it for weeks before Hannah even showed up and now they saw that their plans had been pushed forwards a century or two. She was almost thankful that they were now being forced to exist again. At least her Papa could take up his reign as King Aldric again. And Daddy Aloysias could be his prince consort. Or perhaps a Duke? The specifics were blurry, but she knew one thing at least - She didn't have to rule. Not just yet anyway. She could enjoy her youth a little bit longer.
Standing up from her chair, she walked over to the small chest that sat on her bed. It had every treasure from those days long past. The first flower Orson had ever picked her, encased in a glass dome to keep it safe and fresh for centuries to come. The first necklace he ever gave her for a present. A miniature portraiture of the two right before she left. It wasn't as grand as the one on the wall in his home, but it was the most recent picture of them together - One of the only physical representations of their friendship that she allowed herself to keep.
By mortal age standards, the two of them looked maybe a little mismatched. She was still small there, but blossoming, and he was already well into his growth; Maybe looking the same age as Hannah was now.
In reality, they were only about fifteen years apart. But the way their kinds aged was a totally different scale. Whereas by human standards Elysia looked like a regular, albeit voluptuous, seventeen year old, Orson had to look, oh, about twenty by now. The thought of it made her blush despite herself. He was always a handsome man, but he must be so much more so by now.
Running her manicured fingers over the rest of her treasures, she packed them all away again, save for the necklace, and placed it into her biggest trunk. She never went anywhere without it, even if it took up room she could have used for clothes or shoes. She hadn't allowed herself to wear the necklace since she had left, but it was a better time now than any. And besides, it matched her gown.
Putting the piece on, she chuckled at just how much she grew since it was first given to her. What was once a necklace was now a diamond and garnet-studded choker. And looked just lovely if she did say so herself.
There was a knock at her bedroom door: Hannah was here.

FanfictionA fanfiction about the Halloween movie series "Scary Godmother". I have loved it since I was a kid, and I have always wanted to write a story for it. In this, the characters look a little more human (ie the Vampires aren't all hunched over, etc). ...
