So, this is a little short but I felt like the first one was a little long-winded and mainly served for introductory purposes. I wanted to bring in some beloved characters as soon as I could.

"Scary Godmother!!" Hannah Marie yelled into the witch's house after bounding home from school, "There was this new girl at school and she's super cool! Can I bring her to the Halloween party??"When there was no answer, she looked around, a little disappointed. Scary Godmother's house was decorated, but not nearly as much as it usually was.
She walked through the house and out into the world, and she found Scary out in her garden, carving pumpkins.
"Scary! I was looking for you!" Hannah Marie smiled and ran into the arms of the curly red-headed witch.
Scary caught her in her arms and hugged her tightly, "Hannah Marie, dear! It's so good to see you!"
"It's great to see you too! What is wrong with your house?"
The witch smiled, "The party isn't at my house this year, dear. It's at Count Max and Ruby's castle."
"It is?"
"Well, of course. It's Orson's coronation, remember?"
Hannah blushed and looked down, "Oh yeah, duh. I totally forgot."
"It's fine, dear. What did you say in the house about finding a new friend at school?"
The brunette plopped down on the grass next to the pumpkin patch and Scary stopped to sit next to her.
"Her name is Elsy. She's from France. She also likes all of the same music I do, and she calls Halloween, "Samhain (Sow - en)". Isn't that strange?"
"Well, that's not too strange, love. Samhain is a pagan holiday. It's the Third Harvest Festival, celebrated because that was when the last of the crops would be ready to harvest and store for the winter. Have you asked Elsy if she was a Witch, perhaps?"
'A witch?' Hannah thought, 'Why would there be a witch on the normal side?'
"Not like me, sweetie," Scary added, noticing the look on Hannah's face, "But someone who practices Witchcraft?"
Hannah had heard of people practicing witchcraft before, and there was at least one person in her school that she just KNEW did. But another one, in her small town? That would be crazy.
"I suppose I could ask her."
"That you should," Scary chuckled and sat back up to continue carving, "Now tell me more about this Elsy. What does she look like? Is she pretty?"
"Well," Hannah began, falling back into some leaves, "She has the prettiest hair, it's almost white! And her eyes are so grey, they're almost purple. A couple of the people in school were making fun of the fact she was a little chubby, but it wasn't even all that bad! She looked great. Not everyone can be a beanpole like me."
Scary slowed down her carving at "white hair and purple eyes". There was absolutely no way that was who she thought it was. But, that hair and eye colour was nowhere near common here on the fright side, let alone in the human world. But if it was her... why would she be...
"Say, Hannah, is her last name Aurelius perhaps?"
"No, silly. It's Silvers. Why do you ask?"
"She just sounds like someone I know."
Hannah's words broke her thoughts once more, "And fricken Marcus was being a pervert, as per usual. Like, ick. Who the heck let's teenage boys out in the world? Gross."
"If I weren't technically a couple hundred years old, I'd be considered a teenager for the next week, and I take such offense to that."
"ORSON!" Hannah jumped up and ran into the arms of her favourite vampire, leaving Scary to her thoughts, if only momentarily.
He picked her up and spun her around in the air with him. And as he did so, Hannah took the time to just look at him. He had filled out considerably, and his hair was now grown out on all sides. It was longer than she had ever seen it, but only just barely touching his shoulders. She reached out and touched the dark blue strands and laid her forehead to his, laughing.
When he placed her down, he looked her over with his bespectacled red eyes, smiling at her presence. It had been a couple of years since they had last seen each other so close to Halloween, and she looked just as happy and beautiful as ever. Whether they saw each other for long periods or not, they always seemed to pick back up right where they left off, and that was one of the many reasons she was his best friend.
"What are you doing here, Hannah?!" he asked with a huge toothy grin.
"I came to visit to ask Scary if it would be okay to bring a friend to the party, but now I realise I should probably ask you."
"I'm totally okay with it, but keep in mind, they would be traveling to a whole other place. Are you sure they would be okay with that? Not freak out at all?"
"From what I've heard about her so far, she seems like she'd fit right in." Scary finally spoke, standing up to hug Orson as well.
"Then, awesome. Please bring her along, then. Halloween is next Thursday, so you have eight days until then, nine if you count Halloween. But make sure you let me know before then!"
Hannah nodded and stretched, "I should probably get back home, I need to work on some homework."
As she waltzed away, she heard Orson from behind her, "What's her name?"
"It's Elsy! That's short for Elysia!" Hannah called back and flounced into the house.
"Elysia?" Orson asked after a moment, the name stirring up long-buried memories.
"Yeah, and she has white hair and purple eyes," Scary Godmother said softly from next to him.
Orson just stood there for a moment, staring down at his feet.
"My thoughts, exactly," Scary nodded and started heading towards her house.
Orson just stood in the slowly falling dusk, feeling the wind bristle up around his body.
There was absolutely no way.
