"Casey!" Will woke up suddenly, breathing heavily as he woke up from yet another nightmare. In a panic, he felt around for Casey, sighing in relief when he felt her next to him. The nightmare had scared him half to death. It felt real, almost as if it was actually happening. He flopped back onto his pillow, holding a hand over his mouth as he allowed himself to cry in relief. She was safe. She was okay. Nothing was going to happen to her as long as he was right there with her.

He checked the watch next to him, groaning as he read the time. It was only two am. He still had plenty of time to sleep before he had to wake up in the morning to head to work.

Sighing, he slowly slid out of bed, deciding to make himself some tea to settle down before going back to sleep. As the water brewed, he leaned against the counter, running a hand through his hair. Lately, the nightmares were occurring with more intensity. Those nightmares made him feel useless. Powerless. What if he didn't do enough to protect Casey? What if something happened to her, and he was powerless to stop it?

The kettle whistled, startling Will from his thoughts. Turning off the stove, he carefully took the kettle off the stove and set about to prepare his cup of tea. Hopefully this would settle him down enough and he could actually get some sleep for once. He frowned as he slowly sipped his tea, knowing that Casey would ask about his nightmares again in the morning. She always seemed to know what was up with him. She could read him like a book.

Will wasn't always entirely open and honest with her, but he had been making an effort in the past month. He knew that in order for their relationship to work, he needed to communicate more with her instead of being closed off. He set the mug down on the table, resting his face in his hands for a moment as he groaned. "How do I even begin..." he chuckled to himself. That should've been the least of his worries at the moment. He decided to set aside that thought for now, and decided to finish his tea. After all, he could use all the rest he could get. Tomorrow was going to be quite a long day.

He trudged back to the bedroom, slowly settling into bed. Casey groaned in her sleep, and Will turned to her, his face softening. He pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. Casey's eyes fluttered open. "Will..." she snuggled into him, sighing contentedly, falling asleep soon after.

Will followed not long after.

And for the rest of the night, Will slept peacefully with his beloved in his arms.

The sounds of snoring were what woke Casey up that morning. She stirred and opened her eyes, looking at her sleeping lover laying next to her, sleeping soundly. A bit of drool escaped his mouth, causing her to giggle a little. He was so adorable when he slept.

It had only been a few months since the two of them had found each other again, and it had been completely in the way neither of them had expected it to be. He helped her out of a very toxic relationship with her ex-boyfriend and in the process, the two of them rekindled their feelings for each other. It hadn't been easy at all for the young couple, but in the end it was worth it. It was worth seeing his face every morning, and worth coming back home into his arms after a long day at work.

Slowly, she sat up in bed and slid out carefully to not disturb Will. Today was a rather long day with things she had to do for her job, so it was always best to start early. At least for her it was.

Will often told her how unnecessary it was for her to push herself like this as a timeline fixer, yet Casey always felt the need to do anything and everything. She gave it her all, no matter how difficult the repairs might be. Oftentimes after anyone altered the timeline it was quite a mess, and sometimes even beyond repair. That was where Casey and her colleagues came in. A lot of the time, it was just her doing everything. She hated troubling others for simple fixes she could do herself.
