"Uh hi." The girl said, she was quiet and awkward, but fuck did she look good. Her small frame was covered in a tiny black dress, that hugged all of her curves just right. Her long, black hair was curled and flowing down her back. She had a curious look on her face.

"Rafe, close your mouth, you're going to catch flies." Sarah teased. I shot her a warning look. She sat with another girl and giggled. She looked just like the girl standing in front of me, but her hair was a reddish brown and her eyes were brown instead of green.

Twins, I thought to myself.

I cleared my throat nervously. I don't know why I was nervous, I never get nervous. But standing in front of this small girl, I couldn't help but be lost for words.

"Uh, hey." I replied, my throat dry. I smiled, but the tension was so thick, you could cut it with a knife.

"I saw you in the cafe yesterday." She stated blankly. I kept try to focus on what she was saying but I found myself staring at her lips. I probably looked like a fucking idiot.

"Yeah? Did you?" I had to play hard to get. I couldn't make it too easy on her, since she had me standing here, open-mouthed. Her faces changed, it almost seemed unappetizing.

"Alright everyone, who's hungry?" My father waltzed into the room, Rose at his side and another woman behind them. I'm assuming this girl's mother. The girl turned on her heel quickly, taking a seat next to her sister. Her face was unreadable.

Fuck, I thought.

"Rafe, sit down, son. Let's eat." My father's voice once again snapped me out of my thoughts. I quickly followed my father's commands. Sarah looked at me like I was being crazy, Wheezie too. I watched as the auburn haired girl tap her sister arm and wiggle her brow. The black haired girl shot her an angry look.

"Veronica, these are my kids. Rafe, my oldest son, Sarah, my oldest daughter, and Wheezie, my youngest." My father introduced us one by one. I just looked at the girl.

"Nice to meet you all. Rafe, Sarah, Wheezie, this is River and Harper." Veronica replied.

River's eyes shot up to me. I met her glance with a smirk. I knew what I was doing.

Dinner dragged on, I was just waiting for it to be over, so I could talk to her. Everything in me wanted to know more.

I sat on the patio, the night air warm. Summer had just begun. I normally knew what to do with girls, but with this one in particular, I was dumbfounded. I looked behind me, River and Sarah were making their way to the patio as well. My heart skipped.

"River, this is Rafe." Sarah announced as she slipped out of the glass door, with a mischievous smile.

"Yeah, we met." River deadpanned. She looked at the floor, then directly at me. Right in my eyes.

I shot Sarah a look and she took the hint.

"I saw you at the cafe yesterday." I confessed. I watched cautiously she moved across the patio to a seat across from me. Her bright red lips were pouty and I liked them. A lot.

"I know you did." She sat back with her words, crossing her legs. She had a confidence in her voice, that wasn't there before. "Why did you act like you didn't?"

I was lost for words for a second, then I just shook my head, "You surprised me. I didn't know you were coming. I didn't know your mom worked with my dad." I wiped my lip with my thumb, twisting the big gold ring on my pointer finger.

"Did it matter?" She challenged. Her eyes had a glint of something, I couldn't quite tell what that something was.

I chuckled. She had an attitude. I liked attitude.

"I guess not." I shrugged.

She sat up quickly, her eyes on mine. She rested her elbows on her knees and her chin on her palms.

"What's your game, Cameron?" She questioned.

My confusion must've been written across my face, I sat back.

"Your game. Every handsome, rich guy has one. So what's your's?" She continued to question.

"I don't have a game." I replied simply. This made her chuckle.

"If you say so." She eyed me. It felt like she was reading my fucking mind. I kept looking at her legs and her arms and her fucking eyes.

Her fucking eyes.
