Remus had been mesmerized by the way Harry flew. He was not a very big fan of flying himself but his lack of enthusiasm had been made up for by his two best friends being on the quidditch team. As a result, Remus had to sit through hours of practice sessions and tactics planning throughout his time in Hogwarts.

Seeing harry fly made him remember sitting on the same seats several years back cheering for another boy with messy hair and glasses. The fact that Harry played seeker was the only thing that reminded him that this was not James. James would have been very proud of Harry's quidditch prowess.

He had been very proud when Harry cast a Patronus mid air and proceeded to catch the snitch. Their training sessions had been for some use after all, even though there were no real dementors.

He had been woken up in the middle of the night again by an irritated professor Flitwick who informed him that Sirius black had broken into the castle again. This time, he had held a knife to Ron Weasley, and then ran away.

As Remus helped in the search, his mind was flooded with thoughts of what Sirius's real intentions were. He certainly did not want to kill Remus. There was no reason why he would want to kill Harry unless there was something else that he didn't know about but that was highly unlikely. Then why was he in Hogwarts? What did he want from them?

There was more to the story and Remus wanted to know. Dumbledore had called him a few days back asking him what the memory that was unlocked had been but Remus had said that it was nothing important. He knew what happened when Dumbledore got overly involved in someone's life and unlike thirteen years back, he was a full adult now who knew the consequences of these actions.

What Remus did intend to do was confront Sirius about all of this. He would wait for Sirius to show up after the full moon and if he didn't, he would go searching for him.

Remus was correcting some papers after class the next week when he heard a light knock on the door

"Come in" he said

The door opened and Hermione slowly walked in "good evening professor" she said.

"Good evening Hermione. Now have you been? I expected you to come back in ages but then with all this going on with Sirius black, how are you feeling?"

"I don't know, a lot has been going on, Ron and Harry are angry at me, Sirius black managed to enter the dormitories. Imagine what would have happened if he had found the right bed. And I'm trying to help Hagrid with Buckbeak's trial but I've got nothing so far."

"Your friends will come to their senses don't worry and as for the trial, i may have some research that might help. I can help you with it if you want."

"That would be great"

"But on one condition"

"What is it"

"Call me Remus"

"Ok" she said and he raised an eyebrow. "Remus," she added.

"Good now I thought that there might be some other things that you wanted to know."

"Yes about that, I want to know who my parents are but I'm also afraid to. I-- were they pure blood?"

"Yes they were."

"See I don't want to know who the rest of my relatives are and all that right now. It might be too much for me to handle. The minute I get a name, I'm going to go up to the library and research everything that I can find about my whole extended family and I don't want to do that because I'm already swamped with work."

"So could you tell me about my parents without telling me who they really are?"

"Of Course what do you want to know?" said Remus, smiling gently.

"Were they friends with Harry's parents?"

"Yes. We were all in the same year, Gryffindor"

Hermione nodded slowly taking this information in. Remus realized that she must be thinking that in another life, she and Harry could have been best friends ever since they were infants.

"They were both great people. Hermione, headstrong, stubborn, would do anything to protect their loved ones. Both of them were beaters in the Gryffindor quidditch team. Your mother wanted to play professionally for the Hollywood harpies."

"Wait, they were both beaters?"

"Yes why does that mean anything"

"No. well Fred and George have been the Gryffindor beaters for as long as I've been here and they are-- you know. I'm not saying all beaters are like that but"

"Well your parents were definitely wild people. I think you are comparing them to the right people"

"Really"

"Yeah you definitely take after me on that aspect. But you have your fathers stubbornness."

Remus told her about the adventure of Marlene and Sirius black for a while and Hermione visibly relaxed in front of his eyes. Her worried look from before faded away and she giggled at his stories. Remus remembered her giggles from when she was a baby and was very glad that teenage Hermione's giggles were not much different.

"I have something to ask you. You don't have to say yes but it would mean a lot to me if you did."

"Yes of course, what is it?" he said, wondering if Hermione knew that he would do anything for her.

"My parents would like to meet you. They still think that you may not be telling the truth and are wary. I of course don't think that and I understand if you don't want to."

" Of course I would love to meet your parents, Hermione, in fact, I was about to suggest it myself. I want to thank them for taking such good care of you and bringing you up into this bright young witch that you are."

"Thank you professor. I'll talk to my mum and arrange for a meeting place. Is muggle London alright?"

"Sure"

"And can I tell Ron and Harry that you were my adopted dad? I mean if they even talk to me?"

"Of Course you can. And don't worry they will come around soon. And don't forget to come by and discuss the trial."
