An- hey guys, I'm finally back. I am so sorry for not posting in a long time but I've been busy with my finals and I also have a huge writers block. I actually wanted to fill this part with many chapters like Harry and Hermione being born and just lots of Wolfstar domestic fluff but now I am going to continue with what is important for the plotline as I don't want to abandon this fic. Maybe, someday I'll come back and add more chapters.

One year. Remus cant believe that it has been ONE YEAR since he first held his daughter in his arms. Hermione Lupin-black is the light of their lives. A lot of other things had also changed in this one year. Dorcas had been tortured and killed because she was a Muggle born, Mary had vanished without trace and Marlene died in a duel with the death eaters. Remus's heart had clenched when he heard that his baby girl did not have a mother anymore and he vowed to make sure that Hermione was loved enough to never miss her mother.

They didn't feel like children playing at being adults anymore. The war had hardened them in many ways in such a short time. All the diplomatic werewolf missions that he had gone on had a horrific effect on him but he would gladly spend the full moon night with the wolves because it meant that he was nowhere near his daughter.

They met James and lily mostly only on order business and very rarely met peter. But today, all the marauders had gathered for Hermione's birthday, one last time before the fidelius charm was performed next week.

"Has peter come yet" asked Remus as Sirius walked into their bedroom.

"Ya he just flooed in. and how is my little birthday girl doing" he cooed lifting up an undressed Hermione.

"Well she doesn't want to wear her dress" Remus held up the said piece of clothing.

"Daddy is going to make it a magic dress for you" he said holding his wand up. She giggled as rainbow colored sparks flew out of the wand and the dress became bedazzled with little rhinestones of all colors. "Now do you want to wear the dress my princess" she nodded enthusiastically.

"Rem I have to tell you something"

"Yes"

"I told James to make Peter the secretkeeper'

"What?" said Remus looking up in shock.

"It's the perfect ruse moony. Everyone will think I am the secret keeper while it is actually peter"

"But that's—"

"There's something else too"

"What?"

"It's you moony. You transform with the other wolves every month and if someone captures to you or Hermione then I don't think I can keep the secret" he said in a low voice.

"Are you absolutely sure about this Padfoot?"

"Yes. This is the only way"

"Alright then. I trust you. Let's go she is ready."

"You wanna go see harry my little moonfoot" cooed Sirius

Her ears perked up at the words harry "havy havy havy" she shouted and squirmed around.

"Please don't call her that" sighed Remus and they walked out of there. Together.

Halloween was Padfoots favorite holiday after Christmas. In Hogwarts, they would spend weeks planning and setting up the perfect pranks to scare everyone on Halloween. They had spent the day looking at old photos and trying to teach Hermione to say moony and paddy.

Now, they were curled up on an armchair in front of the fireplace looking at an exhausted little Hermione still dressed in her Babbitty Rabbitty costume sleeping soundly in her crib which Remus had accioed to the living room.

They sat quietly in each other's arms for a while when Sirius's wand sounded a shrill alarm. Hermione immediately started crying as they both looked at each other's faces.

"The warning alarm" whispered Sirius. Looking between the wand and a crying Hermione.

"You should go. I'll take care of her" said Remus picking her up.

"It's probably just a false alarm." He said not quiet believing himself.

"I hope so."

Remus clutched a sleeping Hermione tightly to his chest. It had been hours since Sirius had left and he was getting more and more worried. He had stopped believing that everything was alright about an hour after Sirius had left. Right now, he just wanted to pack some of his bags, take Hermione and leave to someplace safe but he had decided to wait until he at least heard some word about his husband.

As though on cue, a brown barn owl swooshed into his window. He recognized it as one of Dumbledore's owls for the order. He immediately pulled the letter from Dumbledore out of his legs.

Dear Remus,

Sirius betrayed us all last night and gave away the potters address. I am very sorry to tell you that you friend were killed by Voldemort. The boy survived and the dark lord has vanished without trace.

Sirius black was arrested an hour back for killing Mr. Pettigrew for confronting him along with thirteen Muggles. Harry is safe with me at Hogwarts and I am making preparations for him to stay with his Muggle aunt. The dark lord's followers are hunting down the members of the order and sympathizers to find out the whereabouts of Voldemort. They have already captured the Longbottoms so I suggest you stay low for a while and then come meet me in a week.

Albus Dumbledore

Remus clutched the piece of paper to his heart as he tried to get ahold of his breathing. Peter had betrayed them not Sirius. Sirus's perfect plan had blown up right on his face and because of that lily and James were dead. Sirius had confronted peter and killed him along with several other innocent people and was now on his way to Azkaban.

He got up and took his coat. If he could reach Dumbledore on time then he could convince him that Sirius was innocent. He also needed to make sure that harry was ok. That's when he heard it, a little cry, Hermione. Dumbledore had said that death eaters were running rampant so he couldn't leave her alone at home, no matter how many wards he put up and he couldn't take her along with him either because no one knew.

Remus realized that the only people who knew that Remus and Sirius had a child together were either dead or on their way to Azkaban or captured by death eaters. He realized that he would never be allowed to keep his daughter because he was a werewolf .and also because he dint have any legal proof that the child was his because the wizarding world did not recognize gay marriages. Moreover, if word got out that she was the only daughter of Sirius black and Marlene McKinnon, two almost extinct, very powerful pure bred families then she would certainly be given to some stuck up pure bred bigot like Sirius's mother.

He didn't know what to do about the whole situation as he they had never thought about it. He could run away to live as a Muggle and keep his daughter but he would be living in poverty because of his inability to hold jobs. He would also be putting his daughter in constant danger during his monthly transformations.

He was still thinking what to do when he heard a loud crash. He looked out of the window, death eaters half a dozen of them, Remus needed to run.
