"Rick, I'm so sorry, I never meant to hurt you! It was a mistake. A huge, stupid mistake. I just felt so lonely, you've been so distant and working so much, I needed something, anything...I just chose the wrong thing. Please forgive me," Lori begged and pleaded with her husband.
It had been two days since Rick had discovered that Lori had cheated on him. He had finally plucked up the courage to see her and try and find out the truth, not only that but he was starting to believe he had outstayed his welcome at the Walsh household, despite their insistence that it was okay for him to stay.
Rick shook his head and sighed as he looked away from his wife. "So you run to the next man that gives you the slightest bit of attention and expect me to be okay with it? You're essentially blaming me for your infidelity. How long has it been happening? Who with? How many times? I need answers Lori!"
She looked away and stepped back, wiping the never ending tears from her cheeks. "A few months, the same man, I-I don't know how many times."
Rick scoffed. "So it was an affair, a full blown affair," he laughed, but he didn't find any of it funny. "Where was Carl while you were being a whore?" He snapped. "Where was our son?"
"Rick-" she began, but he cut her off.
"Where the hell was our son?" He shouted, louder than she had ever heard him shout before.
She sobbed, "usually at school, o-or with my Mum, but mostly Gabriella."
"So you purposely send him away f-for this?" He asked waving his arms around. "In our bed!"
"I'm sorry.." She said and began to cry.
Rick scoffed and picked up the bags he had packed before she had returned home to speak to him. "Don't bother with the fake tears Lori. You're not sorry, you don't care. You're crying because you got caught, because the truth is out. You disgust me."
Rick attempted to leave with his bags in hand, but Lori grabbed his arms and tried to stop him, pulling at his clothes while begging and pleading.
"No please don't leave. Don't leave me, please Rick, please. I won't do it again, please don't leave me," she pleaded, but Rick shrugged her hands from his arms and she collapsed on the floor in a flood of tears.
He shook his head in disappointment, disgust and anger. "It's over, Lori. I can't forgive this. I wouldn't ever be able to trust you again. I'm going to file for divorce, I will come and see Carl at every opportunity I have and as soon as I have a place to live we will arrange a proper schedule," Rick said calmly.
"But...but I love you. Please don't leave me." She begged.
She looked down ashamed, as Rick stared at her.
"I'm going to stay at Shane's until I find somewhere to live, don't contact me unless it's about Carl or the divorce," he said walking out of the house.
"S-Shane?" She questioned as she got off her knees and chased after him out of the door and towards his car. "Y-you can't."
"And whys that?" He asked, as he opened the trunk and threw his belongings inside.
Her mouth opened and closed but no sound came out, she jumped slightly as Rick slammed the trunk shut.
"Exactly, you have no reason. I'll leave you to explain to Carl what's happening. Please tell him I will pick him up from school and bring him back home after dinner. Me and him can have a proper chat tomorrow evening," he huffed, "I'll even take the time off work," he said bitterly before getting into the drivers side of his car and starting the engine.
