"There's two options! One... you kill me and destroy all this, so you don't have just one devil, you have an infinite amount. Or... you two. You two run the thing."

"You're lying." Loki squinted his eyes. "Why would you give up being in control?"

His smile faded. "Buddy... I'm tired." Called it! "And I'm older. I'm older than I look. This game is for the young, the hungry. I've gone through a lot of scenarios... trying to find the right person to take this spot. And it turns out that person came in a pair. But it is definitely you two. So, no more lies. You kill me and the Sacred Timeline is completely exposed. Multiversal War. Or you take over and return to the TVA and it's benevolent rulers. Tell the workforce who they are and why they do what they do." But why us.

I shuffled in my seat. "But why is. Why us two, and why a pair?"

He snapped his finger and pointed at me. "Brilliant question!" He climbed back onto his chairs back and pointed at Loki. "Loki, the God of Chaos." He chuckled. "See. Loki's were born of chaos and.." he flailed his hands around. "... along the way grew the titles of Mischief, Lies, etc." He smiled. "But, you see, they are a perfect master of CHAOS, the ones who can understand all of this." He motioned his hands around to the world. "And control the timelines." He beamed.

"So why not just Loki?" I asked, He sighed and sat down.

"Loki... they weren't made with the filter to contain their own chaos, the self-centered lust for power at anyone's expense." Loki rolled his eyes. "But! This Loki strangely did." I furrowed my brows.

"And what is this filter?" Loki raised a brow.

He smiled and looked between us. "Love." My eyes brows raised. "In your lives, all Loki's, that never experience love and if they do it is pushed away. You." He pointed at Sylvie. "Have seen love many times in your apocalypses but never experienced it."

"Then why am I here?" She seethed.

"It's the journey. I needed you to get into Loki's brain to... push, him along to connect his thoughts on love. He needed someone to show him how he felt." He smiled.

"So I'm just a pawn in your game?" She seethed. He shrugged. "You treated real people's lives like some kind of game."

"It's not personal, it's practical."

"It was personal to me." Sylvie snarled.

"Grow up! Grow up, Sylvie!" He exclaimed. "This right here is why you aren't the right Loki for this." He chuckled. "We are all villains here. We have all done horrible, terrible, horrific things, except Nedra of course. But now, we, you..." He points to Loki, who has been quiet for a long time now, and I. "Have a chance to do them for a good reason." His expression changed from calm to fear.

"What's wrong?" I sat up.

"We just crossed... the threshold." He chuckled softly.

"What does that mean?" Loki finally spoke up.
