I groan as I roll over on my bed, quickly shutting my eyes as light from my window hits my face. Knowing I have to get up for school, I scoot myself out of my sheets until my feet touch the floor.

"Lola, get up it's time for school!", my mother yells from downstairs.

"I'm up mom", I basically whisper since my mouth is so dry. I slip my pajamas off and throw on some black leggings, white socks, a purple crewneck sweater. I then open my door and head to my bathroom. After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I sigh with dread lookiing at my hair. I had really thick curly kinky hair that was just always so hard to deal with. I spent the next fifteen mintues brushing and detangling, then getting it into a bun.

Finally I make my way downstairs to see my mom at our kitchen table, coffee in hand, phone in the other. I grab an apple, wipe it with my sleeve and sit at the other end of the table eyeing my mother. Of course she was to deep in her phone to look up at me, so all she managed to say was a small goodmorning. Irritated, I got up instantly and threw the apple away. My backpack was sitting by the door so I rushed to grab it, slipped my white hightop converse on and ran out our big oak front door.

Walking up the steps of my school, I made it just in time for first period. I head to class and sit in the backrow like I always did. Everyone else was laughing and jumping around, already so energetic at 8:00 am.

Why can''t they just sit down, who even is up like that so early?, I think to myself.

As I'm about to enter my daydream mode, I hear someone sit abrutly in the seat next to me. I look up to my left and I'm met with the most sexiest dark brown chocolate eyes.

"Class, this is our new student, Driss Evans, he just transfered from New York. Everyone give him a huge welcome." Ms. Teven, my teacher announces with a huge smile.

Driss is still eyeing me but moves his gaze to the classroom. He doesn't say one word just smiles a little bit and leans back in his chair. I look back down at my open notebook, but I could feel Driss return his gaze back to me.

The bell rings for class to be dismissed and I sling my backpack over my shoulder. I walk out into the hallway, and head for my locker. As I reach my locker, I feel a surge of pain to my head that causes me to feel faint. I reach with one hand up to my locker but my hand slips and misses. The dizziness and nasuea that occurs seconds later causes me to crumple to the floor. As I feel my head almost touch the floor, I feel a strong warm hand cradle it. I could barely see as I looked up but I let out a small gasp when I saw who it was.

Driss Evans.
