Author's Note

I would just like to start this off with an apology! It's been two years since I've touched this book, leaving it unfinished and a worse for wear. Of course, the world descended into chaos, and my mind was elsewhere, and to be truthful, I've been struggling to write anything. Fan fictions had kept my love for reading and writing alive, having grown up with my nose in a different book every week. As I got older, finding ways to stay motivated to write became harder, and I found myself drifting through life.

The MCU was my rock through the hardest years of my life, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. However, Endgame felt like the closing chapter to a lot of things, and my love for the MCU has changed.

At the time of writing this, Loki was most likely dead, Natasha was definitely dead, and the characters I had grown to love were slowly closing their chapter in the MCU. Endgame was the end of the golden era of Marvel, in my opinion, and that's where my heart will stay. In saying that, I do feel the obligation and desire to see this series to its end. One day, I do hope to rewrite the whole thing, which will take many years and possibly never see the light of day, but the least I can do is finish the damn thing!

So, I apologize for the ridiculously lengthy delay. To my surprise, the series I started as a young teenager has been quite popular, and I receive notifications every day of people adding it to their reading lists, or voting / commenting, and I am so thankful to everyone who has supported me in this way. Even the silent readers, those who don't vote or comment - and I am not ashamed to admit I often fall into this category - have supported this story as well, and again, thank you.

I wanted to use this author's note to kind of break up what has been written two years ago with what will be written now, in 2021. My writing style has definitely changed - which I am grateful for - and I just wanted to make clear of what's the new and fresh meat.
