Reece One Shot #2

You were busy getting ready for Casey's New Year's Eve party with your friends Gina, Hannah, Lily and Melissa. Gina was going out with Casey and Hannah was going out with Charlie, whilst Lily was "vibing" with Chris and Melissa was "vibing" with James. You were dating Reece and today was your 2nd anniversary. However, he hadn't said a word about it to you. You couldn't blame him, since everyone was busy obsessing over New Year's. The one thing that upset you was that on your first date and your first anniversary, you and Reece had watched Finding Nemo. A childish movie, sure, but it was your movie. It didn't look like you guys were watching it tonight.

"Wow Maibritt, Reece is going to drool when he sees you!" Lily said, jaw dropping. 

"We all look incredible!" you replied. 

"Who's ready for some New Year's Eve??!" Gina shouted. 

"WOOOOOHOOOOO!" you all screamed, giggling.

An hour later, you were all having the time at the party. Gina, Casey, Hannah and Charlie were all on the dance floor, while Lily, Chris, Melissa and James had all disappeared. You and Reece were by the bar, just talking.

"How was your day darling?" he asked you.

"It was great, what about yours?" you asked, smiling. 

"Mine was busy but good," he said.

It was now 10:30pm and you were taking a break from the dance floor. 

"Come on, I have something to show you upstairs," a familiar voice whispered in your ear. You turned your head and saw Reece standing right next to you, grinning his gorgeous smile.

"Alrighty then," you replied, smirking. 

He took your hand and led you up the stairs to the guest bedroom. You gasped when he opened the door. There were rose petals and candles everywhere. On the bed, there was a bowl of popcorn and a laptop, where you faintly heard the menu music of Finding Nemo.

"Is this what you were doing for the past half an hour?" you said, tears filling your eyes.

"I could never forget our anniversary, I love you Maibritt," he replied, kissing you passionately. You kissed back, feeling the tears fall down your face.

"Shhhh, don't cry babe," he said quietly, kissing the tears away. You both lay down on the bed, pressing play on Finding Nemo.

The movie had just finished and it was 11:59pm. Reece grabbed your hand and you guys ran outside where everyone was gathered.

"Maibritt, guess what??" Lily said excitedly.

"What??" you replied, matching the level of excitement in her voice.

"Chris is now officially my boyfriend!!" she shrieked.

"And James and I are an item now too!" Melissa said, popping up out of nowhere with Gina and Hannah. All of you had a little shriek because why not??

"Okay people, let's count down!" the DJ shouted in the microphone. You quickly found Reece and grabbed his hand.

"TEN, NINE, EIGHT, SEVEN, SIX, FIVE, FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!" everyone shouted. Hundreds upon hundreds of colourful fireworks were set off. The last one read, "Turn around Maibritt.

Feeling confused, you turned to look at Reece, who was now on one knee with an open black box in his hand, revealing a gorgeous diamond ring.

"My gorgeous, smart, incredible Maibritt, will you please do me the greatest honour and become my wife?" he said. The whole crowd of people had gone silent.

Too shocked to speak, you just nodded your head until you felt like it would fall off. A smirking Reece slid the ring on your finger and kissed you to the sound of loud cheers from the crowd.

Guess Reece didn't forget your anniversary after all....
