I was once a flickering match
Just a word away from flames
In came you, like a river to my burning embers
You were the one who kept me sane.
Had nothing much to offer you
Except the tender pieces of my forgotten heart
You took the scraps and made a masterpiece
At least now I know where to start.
I know our love was short
But baby I mean it when I say
You were my greatest love and comfort,
My safe place.
