3. Welcome Home

Y/n's POV

We did it. I can hardly believe it but... we did it. We defeated Thanos. I started to lay down as I saw Dad flying over to me.

That snap really left a mark. I'm not worried though. I'll be out cold for a while but Dad can fix me up better than ever. My faith that everything will be alright is why decided to do it.

Dad was holding my hand. He told me, "Hey, mouse."

"We did it", I said weakly.

"That's right. That's right. You're gonna be okay, y/n", he told me.

"I know. I know", I said as Mom went over to me.

"Oh my god!", she said as she held me tight, "Y/n I can't believe it. I'm so proud of you!"

"Thanks, mom. You did awesome too", I told her with a smile.

Then, I saw Peter slowly step towards me and kneel down.

"Hey, underoos. We did it", I told him to comfort him. He had an expression of shock as tears started steaming down his cheeks, "Hey, don't look like that. I'll be alright."

"I-I know, it's just... please, please be alright, y/n", he paused a second before hugging me. I didn't expect it but I hugged him back nonetheless, "I... I love you, y/n."

He stepped back and Dad knelt down beside me as I began to fade out. The last thing I saw was Loki saying, You did wonderfully, y/n.

Timeskip

Dad had repaired me good as new and soon, I was ready to go back to school. While I was packing my things to go back to my apartment in New York, Loki was coming up with reasons I shouldn't go.

I don't see why you must attending school.

Because all my friends are there and I want to feel as human as a cyborg who's also Tony Stark's daughter can feel.

But you already know basically everything! And you don't like anyone there!

Hey, I like plenty of people there. Ned, MJ and Peter are my best friends.

And you never let me forget.

Y'know, I think you're just throwing a hissy fit because you don't want me leaving you alone all day at home. You want me all to yourself.

So what if I do?

So.. I can rub it in your face how much you love me. You know you would do the same, only you'd mock me more.

I... wish I could deny that.

On the first day back at school, everything seemed to be going well. Happy dropped me off (I was still getting used to his blip-beard), and everything seemed to be feeling a little more normal despite everything that had happened.
That's what I thought at least before I saw Peter again and it almost felt like nothing had changed. Like we were just normal kids again and the worst thing we had to worry about was when we'd find time to hang out in between studying and being friendly neighbourhood heroes.

Our eyes met and we both just stared into them, thinking about nothing and everything. We were snapped out of the trance when MJ waved her hand in front of us and said, "Hey dorks. Move it or you'll get eaten alive by the sea of unimportants."

We snapped out of it and quickly hauled ass before we got eaten alive as MJ predicted.
