Lies

*Daniel POV*

"I still can't believe you got married first"

"Well you had a baby first, so I think we're even" I joke with Jack as Sam chews her gum, obnoxiously tapping loudly on her phone.

I look around the backyard seeing all the smiling faces, listening to Theo's squeals as Zach tries splashing him with cold pool water.

"Y/n?"

"The- the- the door-"

I snap my head back into the direction of the door seeing Y/n walking out, shaking with her hands covering her ears. I jump out of my chair to run to her side as she's lost all colour in her face and tears seem to have been running down her face for a while now.

"Y/n, sit down, okay? Who was at the door?" I grab her hand to bring her to a chair but her legs collapse on her and she falls to the floor.

Jack rushes over, kneeling down on one side of her while I'm on the other. Everyone slowly comes walking over to make sure she's okay.

"Get the kids inside and tell me who the fuck's at the door!" I shout to whoever will listen.

"Y/n, you're okay, you're having a panic attack. Can you breath with me?" Jack talks while I pull her shaking body onto my lap.

The three guys each grab a kid and get them inside. I watch Sam roll her eyes before taking her sweet time to get into the house so we can be alone.

I hold Y/n as close as I can and I place my hand on her back, not once moving it. I take deep breaths with her and Jack, just trying to get any sort of rhythm back.

"It's uh, someone named Skylar" Jonah whispers and my body instantly tenses.

What the fuck does she want?

"Y/n, can I grab you so Daniel can answer the door?" Jack replaces my hand on her back with his.

I don't want to leave Y/n, not when she's like this but I know this anger building inside me isn't going to help her calm down. What the fuck could Sky say that turned Y/n into this within two minutes?

"Okay" She whispers out while she brings a hand to my cheek, rubbing it for a second.

Jack grabs Y/n's hips, lifting her between his thighs and wrapping his arms around her waist.

The sight makes me sick.

I jump up, racing past everyone buzzing in the living room and I'm out the front door to see Skylar with a wide smile in the middle of our front lawn.

"What did you say to her?" I grab her bicep, pulling her away from the house and to the side walk

"Do you have it?"

"I asked, what did you say to her?"

"Told her I was pregnant" Skylar shrugs before a laugh escapes her lips

"Why the fuck would you say that? We both know you're not" I take a deep breath, trying to not yell

"But you should've seen the look on her face! Now, what I came here for?" She holds out her hand and I slap it with mine.

"I don't have your favourite 'stripping bra', now if you'll excuse me, my wife is having a panic attack"

I leave Skylar on the side walk and race back inside. I ignore the comments of everyone asking who she is or what she wants and I race outside to the back yard seeing Y/n and Jack in the same position. She's leaning herself on Jack's chest and he's resting his chin on top of her head. I crouch down in front of her and take her hand in mine.

"Y/n, can you look at me?" I whisper out, losing all my anger seeing her so broken.

She lightly picks up her head, looking at me through her wet eyelashes. Jack doesn't take his arms off around her.

"She lied, what she said isn't true, okay? She only said that to get me outside. I promise you, she lied"

"Really?" Even her voice sounds so broken

"I promise"

Y/n fully picks up her head and slowly wraps her arms around my neck. Jack drops his arms, releasing his hold and I replaced it with mine. I slowly stand up and I wrap her legs around my waist so I'm able to carry her into the house.

"I'm just going to lay Y/n down, I'll be right back" I say gently as I give the guys an apologetic look

"Is mommy okay?" Theo runs over, pulling on my pant leg

"Mommy is just going to have a nap, she's okay"

"Can I lay with mommy?" Y/n nods her head that's resting in my neck

"Yeah, come on bud"

Theo takes off running up the stairs and I follow up with Y/n. I place her down in our bed and wrap her up in the blanket. I sit beside her, playing with her hair until she falls asleep, exhausted.

"Why was mommy so sleepy?" Theo sits up, playing with a strand of her hair

"Someone lied to her, so she was upset"

"Was it who was at the door?"

"Yeah, my friend Sky was at the door, do you remember her?" I probably shouldn't have said her name

"Yeah, mommy and I don't like her" What?

"Why didn't you tell me you didn't like her?" I pull Theo closer to me

"Mommy said she made you happy, and she wants you happy" Theo smiles innocently before placing a kiss on Y/n's cheek

"Um, okay, are you going to stay here?" Theo nods. "Alright, come get me if she wakes up, okay?"

"Okay daddy" I kiss the top of his head before walking out of the room.

I take a few deep breaths before getting down the stairs, seeing everyone patiently waiting for me.

"I think we should cancel the rest of this party, do it another day"

"Yeah man, we kinda figured, we just wanna know if she's okay" Corbyn pats my shoulder

"She'll be alright, she's just exhausted"

Everyone hangs out for a bit longer until eventually starting to leave, except Jack.

"Sam, you got a key, right?" He asks as he takes a seat on the sofa

"Yeah, see you later" She doesn't even look back

"What's going on, man?" I take a seat across from him, holding Harper in my lap, making funny faces to get her to smile

"Is everything good? I saw the guest room" Of course he did

"We just had a fight, I haven't gotten around to moving her stuff back in yet" I shrug, playing around with Harpers hands that are wrapped around my finger

"Nah man, when you fight, you sleep on the couch for the night not throw all your wife's stuff into the guest room" A sleeping Hunter cuddles himself into Jack's thigh

"Say it" I see the urge to ask a question on Jack's face

"What?" He laughs

"Just say what you actually want to say"

"Is she the girl you've had over every night?"
