Break Up

*Jack POV*

I stand in the kitchen cooking a pot of Mac and cheese for Theo and I while the two boys lay in the guest room watching a movie.

I can't help but let my mind wander to Y/n and Daniel.

Is it selfish to say I hope they're fighting?

A knock on the door makes me turn off the oven and I walk to answer the door, seeing a nervous looking Y/n. She stands with her arms crossed lightly and she's chewing on her lip.

"Is everything okay?" She looks up from her sandals with an uneasy look.

"Daniel wants me to cheat on him" She blurts out and I wave my hand for her to come inside

"Well, you know where my bedroom is, I'll meet you there"

"No, Jack" Y/n laughs walking into my living room and sitting down on the sofa. "It's not allowed to be with anyone we know"

"What's the fun in that? You know my door is always open for you" I not so subtly flirt and I sit down beside her, ready to hear more of Daniel's ridiculous offer

"Daniel believes, if I cheat on him, like he cheated on me, the guilt will go away. Yet, he slept with Skylar for 5 months and I only get to make out with some guy" Y/n leans back with a sigh and I bite my lip to hold back a laugh

"You two have been married for 6-"

"I know! What a great marriage so far" She puts on a cheesy smile, trying to act like what's happening in her life isn't breaking her apart

"So what's the plan with mission make out?" I cock an eyebrow, curious on how she's going to go about this or if she even will.

Y/n has always been a loyal girl, well, except when it's came to me. That was mostly my fault, I probably should've never confessed my feelings.

"I came to grab the kids and also talk to Sam. I wanted to see if she'd go to the bar with me sometime to get this stupid thing over with. I don't even know if I want to do it, I might just say I did and move on" Y/n shrugs her shoulders, sucking in a deep breath. A small smile forms on her lips before she breaks eye contact

"Why didn't you tell me you thought the twins could be yours, asshole?" She laughs

"You were happy, I wasn't going to ruin that"

"You had over a year, dude"

"And I went to tell you, like four times. Daniel was there the first, second you were moving in with him, third Daniel was there again and the forth, you were telling me how happy you were with Daniel a few days before you married him"

Just reliving those moments make me wonder if everything would be different if I just opened my stupid mouth

"You could've told me, everything would've been so much easier"

No kidding.

Little footsteps come rushing down the stairs and a cheerful giggle fills the bottom floor of my house.

"Uncle Jack!" Theo yells as he rounds the corner of the stairs. "Mommy!"

"Hey baby, should we get Hunter and head home?" Y/n scoops him on to her lap

"I'll get Hunter"

I get up from my spot on the sofa and jog up the stairs. I walk into Y/n's old room and see him sleeping peacefully in the middle of the bed. I scoop up his sleeping body, as smooth as I can without waking him.

I rock him a little bit in the room so he doesn't wake up, as I take in his features. He looks just like Y/n with a little splash of me. Harper looks just like me, with a little splash of Y/n.

"Daddy loves you, okay?" Daddy? That was weird to say. I only say that to Lav.

I gently kiss Hunter on the forehead before walking slowly down the stairs with him. He pulls a little yawn, stretching out his little arms and it makes my heart melt.

When we get to the bottom of the steps, Y/n and Theo are already at the door, ready to leave.

"Here you go, all safe and sound" I smile, gently handing Hunter back to Y/n

"Thank you for taking them, when, whatever that was, was going on" Y/n watches the sleeping boy in her arms like he's the best thing ever. It makes me realize that if I ever wanted more kids, it'd always be with her

"No problem, I'm happy to spend time with the boys"

"Uh, just so you know, Daniel's calling his
lawyer, and probably getting in contact with yours, for the twins" Y/n looks conflicted as she finishes the sentence

"Why?"

"Some custody agreement. I don't care for it, you can come see them whenever you want, just let me know if you ever want to take them out, so I can plan for it" Y/n's eyes lock with mine with an almost sorrow look, she doesn't want this

"I'll see what Daniel's lawyer has to say and we'll go from there, I guess. Thanks for the heads up"

I don't care for the lawyers or any agreement Daniel wants. I'll pay the child support that Y/n wants/needs but I'll only pay it to her, in cash, so Daniel can't get his hands on it. I know he set Y/n on an allowance, and I know it's not enough for her and the three kids.

"I'm open to whatever you want to do" Y/n smiles before placing a soft kiss on my cheek

"I'll let you know, okay?" I place a hand on her cheek, lightly rubbing my thumb across before pulling my hand back. I don't want to show too much affection with Theo around, just in case he says something to Daniel.

"Just get Sam to call me, okay?"

"Yeah, I'll let her know"

Fuck, I need to break up with Sam.
