Not every love story has a happy ending. Sometimes people fall out of love. They may not love you anymore. It can be a possibility for the mind is strange mechanism and any peculiar change of emotions can betide. Like that of "The" Maiden's husband.

"The" Maiden, born as Absinthe, is very well known to the people of Adobe de Calavera, which upon translating to English from Español, meant "Skull Adobe". As the citizens of Adobe de Calavera say, Absinthe's story is one of the most scariest and heartbreaking of all times.

Absinthe, never imagined that she would ever so fall in love with a man. But Eldritch somehow managed to find his way into her life. Absinthe was the only councilwoman of the town and Eldritch was an outsider with wonderous ideas on making a perfect society. His ideas fascinated Absinthe. They ended up partners in the Welfare community. A society so rich in customs was thus born which one could only have ever dreamt of.

After 7 years of working together, Absinthe and Eldritch fell in love. Love, as magical as it seems, also posses two sides. Like magic, Love can also be hazardous, harmful on one hand and ecstatic, prodigious on the other hand.

Their love grew into a solace of the other. They became much closer and developed a sense of true oneness with each other. Such a pure, blissful form of love branched into their lives. From being partners at work, they planned their partnership for life. As Absinthe was the councilwoman, their wedding was attend by all.

Over time, Absinthe was completely lost in her love for Eldritch. She was so in love with her beloved that nothing felt meaningful without him. Unfortunate events were yet to strike their joyous marriage.

After a few years, the lovebird, Absinthe noticed no more essence of affection from her beloved. On the other hand, her love for him had outgrown the boundaries of sanity. Her notice in the absence of his affection was confirmed when Eldritch confessed that he didn't feel the same love for her anymore. He did love her but not as much as he used to during the initial years of their marriage.

Absinthe never let Eldritch see how hurt she was knowing that he didn't possess the same amount of love for her and that his love for her had decreased. She yet always showed him her deepest affection and cried away her deepest sorrow and unending pain in loneliness.

But this is where she lost her sanity. At times her mind would settle down in mania printing thoughts about murdering Eldritch and at times her mind would be drowned in pain.

On Eldritch's birthday, Absinthe decided to make the day special. As Eldritch would be at his friend's till dinner time, Absinthe was able to decorate their small, lively domicile. When Eldritch entered the house, his heart sank. He, as always felt the guilt of not loving Absinthe more than ever while she, she would bring him the moon if he wanted.

"Beloved, I have told you that my love for you, is in no way, increasing and rather has reduced down the year. I wish I could change it but I am unable to. Then why are you doing this? Why are you letting yourself feel hurt?" Eldritch asked as tears of guilt streamed down his chin. Absinthe's mind lingered in insanity. She lost control of her thoughts and actions.

Her right hand found itself on the velvet handle of a knife. Before she could analyze her actions, she pushed Eldritch to the wall and stabbed and stabbed and stabbed multiple times until a pool of blood oozed out if his abdomen. He gagged for air and then dropped down into his own pool of blood. His corpse now pale and lifeless.

The knife escaped Absinthe's palm and landed on the ground as a teary-eyed Absinthe dropped on her knees. "What have I done? I loved him. How could I have killed him?" Absinthe cried. "WHY?! WHY?!" she yelled alone in her pain, guilt and insanity. Absinthe, a bold independent woman was now merely a broken lifeless soul.

The next week, she was taken to a psychiatrist who diagnoses her of bipolar disorder. Some days Absinthe was in a state of grief where her tears never stopped and some days she would go comoletely insane and her maniac laugh never ceased shrieking down the hallways. Her emotions took toll on her thoughts. This resulted in her ending her insane, broken life. Thus, was an end put to the tragedy of "The" Maiden.

Our emotions can get the best of us if we don't limit them. Had Abisnthe controlled her emotions, she could have found a better way out of her sorrow without tragedy striking.

This plot was suggested to me by a friend about 2 or 3 years ago. Me being a person who doesn't like writing tragedies, had refused to write this. Then why write it now? I know for a fact that to become a better writer you should try as many genres as possible so that you can improve your writing style. So I ended up writing this. Yes I am open to suggestions but no tragedies. I can't write tragedy without feeling guilty so 'Hell No!' to more tragedies 🙂
My goal is to help people through tragedies not create any. Get that point in your minds people. So this is the last ever tragedy you shall read from me.
