It has been a few weeks since Kai and Kael started remodeling the kitchen. Since then I had learned so much about them.
I learned that they're father started their contracting business and they took over when he passed. Kai's the oldest and he's very outspoken, while Kael is more reserved and shy.
I walked downstairs and saw them outside in the backyard varnishing the new cabinets that they were gonna install. I stared as Kai removed his shirt and his body was on full display to me.
Dear God.
He looked up and saw me staring at him. He smirked causing me to blush lightly. I turned around and walked into the kitchen to get them something to drink considering it was like 98° outside.
Walking over to the refrigerator, I grabbed two bottles of water and took them out to them.
"Here you are guys." I handed them the water.
"Thanks." they said in unison.
I walked back into the house and poured myself a glass of champagne. I grabbed it and walked over to the back door. I watched them as the worked diligently.
I bit my lip as I saw the way the sweat glistened on their perfect bodies.
"Rhae." I jumped as I turned to see Dominic standing behind me.
"What?" I sipped my champagne and walked toward the stairs.
"Don't walk away from me." he grabbed my arm and pushed me against the wall causing neck to drop my glass on the floor.
"Don't fucking touch me Dominic. Why are you even home? Your little slut must be acting up?" I pushed him back.
"Look I told you she doesn't mean anything. So drop it." he stuck his finger in my face.
I know he didn't just put his finger in my face.
"Bullshit. You're too stupid to see she's spending all of your money. She doesn't give a fuck about you Dominic." I smacked his hand out of my face.
"Shut the fuck up." he pushed me back against the wall again.
"Fuck you." I slapped him as hard as I could.
I watched him as he clenched his jaw. Suddenly I felt his hand connect with my cheek with force causing me to fall to the floor.
I gripped my cheek trying to suppress the stinging feeling that accompanied the slap.
Out of nowhere, I looked up and saw Kai push Dominic up against the wall and punch him in the face.
I felt a pair of strong arms scoop me up off the floor. It was Kael carrying me out of the house to their car. I watched in shock as he ran back into the house. I froze in fear.
I soon saw him walk back out of the house with Kai following closely behind him. They got into the car and drove off.
"Are you ok, Rhae?" Kai asked pulling me into his arms.
All I could do was shake my head. The stinging subsided but my cheek was bruised and swollen.
"How can you stay with someone who treats you like that? You deserve better." Kael said as we pulled you to a large house.
I had no reply. I could feel the years build in my eyes. The last thing I wanted was for them to see me cry. I pushed the tears back and shrugged.
We got of the car and walked up the steps. Kael unlocked the door and we walked in. Their home was much like mine and Dominic's only more modern and updated.
Kai carried me into the kitchen and sat me on the counter. He walked over to the refrigerator and grabbed some ice wrapping it in a rag.
"Here. This should stop the swelling." he placed the towel against my cheek causing me to flinch slightly in pain.
"Thank you." I said quietly taking the rag out of his hand.
I can't believe he hit me. He's raised his voice and called me names but he's never hit me. I sighed as I felt tears start falling down my cheeks.
"Don't worry, he'll never hurt you again." Kai said pulling me into a hug.
I laid my head in his chest as he held me tightly. I breathed in his musky and intoxicating scent. I pulled away from him and looked up into his cloudy green eyes.
He lowered his head and kissed me lightly. I closed my eyes and deepened the kiss wrapping my arms around his neck. He slipped between my legs and placed his arms around my waist pulling me closer to him. I moaned lightly running my hands through his hair.
"Ahem." Kael cleared his throat.
I blushed lightly as Kai pulled away from me.
"Come on. I'll show you where you'll sleep." Kael said as Kai helped me off of the counter.
I followed closely behind him as he walked upstairs.
"Here it is. This is my room." he opened the door and I walked in.
"Why does she have to sleep in your room?" Kai said leaning against the door frame.
"Shut up stupid." Kael replied pushing him out of the room.
I chucked lightly as they continued to argue.
"Goodnight Rhae." Kael said as he walked out of the room.
"Goodnight and thank you." I said lightly.
He smiled genuinely and walked away. Kai smirked deviously before shutting the door.
I laid down on the bed and immediately felt exhausted. I closed my eyes and allowed the sleep to take over drifting off into a deep sleep.
