The blood pounded in her ears. Her heart thudded in her chest. Her hands shook. Her vision blurred. A river of tears started streaming down her cheeks.

She wasn't sure she understood what the letter said but she didn't want to read it again. She couldn't. It was too much for her in a short amount of time. Five minutes prior she was studying like every normal day, fully convinced of her best friend being totally uninterested in her. She almost wished she never read this. She felt so bad for having invaded- even if not on purpose- the Thai's privacy, she felt scared of what she read, she felt relieved that somehow she has those feelings for her, but she felt extremely sad because she knew in her heart she wasn't ready for that type of relationship. Everything just felt extremely overwhelming to the point of not being able to breath properly.

Jennie always used to be a rather shy girl. When she was a kid she had that ingenuity that all kids have that made her seem more cheeky but that didn't mean she hadn't her fair share of insecurities to deal with.
Although she didn't have to deal with bad anxiety until the moment she joined YGE. She started having her first huge panic attack after only three weeks of joining them.

At this point she knew what they were and she had gotten familiar with them. That didn't mean that she necessarily knew how to deal with them. Lisa actually helped her a lot. She somehow knew how to calm Jennie down. She knew exactly what she needed in that moment. Unfortunately, since a while now, Jennie couldn't go to her anymore because good part of her anxiety was caused by the Thai girl-or better- her feelings for the latter.

She decided in that moment that she needed a breather and unconsciously applied one of Lisa's suggestions from whenever she was feeling this type of way: she took Kai for a walk.

In that moment she had to focus on something else such as finding Kai's harness, putting it on him, making sure it wasn't too tight, be careful on where he stepped or where he peed, which meant being aware of her surroundings. And that helped.

Kai itself was here because of Lisa.
Well, sorta.
It's quite a long story.

Flashback

It hadn't been long since Lisa joined the company but the two girls where already super close. However Jennie's mom was quite worried in watching her daughter having full panic attacks and her mental health having gotten so worse. She decided that she had to do something but wasn't quite sure what.

Lisa one day went to Jennie's house. They were hanging out but the Korean teenager decided that she had to pass quickly by her house to get something she needed. It was something last minute so she didn't plan on Lisa meeting her mother- also because she was quite convinced that she wasn't even home.

"Jennie? Is that you?" Her mother called by the kitchen.

"Mom? I didn't know you'd be here..." Jennie made a sign for Lisa, who in the meantime froze on the spot, to come in. "Are you presentable? I am not alone.." She ended this giggling with Lisa while elbowing her.  Lisa chuckled drily, not quite sure of what she was supposed to laugh about due to the language barrier.

"Of course, come in!" The mother said actually joining them in the living room. "Finally I get to meet one of Jennie's friends..." She notice Lisa's confused face so she asked her daughter if she could understand what she was saying. Jennie kindly explained that she was just starting to learn Korean so she immediately switched to English. "What's your name?"

"I'm Lalisa Manoban but everyone calls me Lisa. Nice to meet you Mrs. Kim." The Thai girl said politely.

"What a wonderful name! Lalisa..." She said to kinda taste it on her mouth. "Where are you from?"
