I ran through the field with a smile on my face and never looked back because I felt safe my dreams were reality because of you and the man that I hardly knew. What I was and what I'd become was the same tune played on the same drum. Once more a year passed, and I couldn't have flown higher, but my life change direction towards the line of fire.
Their words tore through me one by one just like a bullet from a handgun. I tried to push through the depression and pain, hoping one day their words would change. Pretty soon it got harder to live each day and suicidal thoughts took over my brain. I was scared and alone I didn't know what to do, so I reached out my hand with hopes of finding you.
A spark was created when our hands touched which led to a fire produced by us. It tore through the walls that I had put up, and soon I could see that I'm always enough. My mother always said "I love you, sweet pea. Be who you are, and who you want to be." Thinking 'bout it now that's who I am. If you try to change me I won't give a damn.
I've learned one lesson more important than them all, always get back up whenever you fall. I should have known then just like I know it now, but knowing my brain I wouldn't have known how. Just try and douse my flames they will only rise up higher, but I guess that's what you get when you're in the line of fire.
