Persephone concentrated, as she felt her magic well up inside of her. She had promised Mort she wouldn't practice her magic without him but she quickly got bored;the muggles were uninteresting, their feeble attempts to entertain her quickly got tiring. Ergo, with a little bit of time and concentration she had found herself in a tree. Her magic flaring uncontrollably as it seemed to literally latch onto a boy about her age.

She had to admit, the boy was unnaturally beautiful, his curled locks were neatly combed and his blue eyes were perfectly clear. Even the hand me down clothes that adorned his small body looked oddly perfect. So,Persephone watched with glee as he talked to the small snake that complained about its hunger;her heart going out to the little creature.

She also watched as a small group of boys quickly approached the unnamed boy. Her heart wrenching painfully as she knew what it was like to be judged and called a freak for things she simply couldn't control.

The girl found joy when the group ran away;fear dancing on her tastebuds. 'What an intoxicating taste.' She thought dreamily, quickly jumping from her spot in the tree;startling the boy as he glared at her;distrust and she would guess a little fear coating his expression. 'Hello,' Persephone purred, holding her small hand out, seeing if the boy would shake it. 'I'm Persephone and I must say, your magic is so similar to my own that it's intoxicating.' She stated matter of factly, the boys face void of any emotions that could give him away as he quickly shook her hand;both children gasping in surprise as each of them saw flashes of memories from the other,Persephone too surprise to put her mental shields up from the attack.

'A monstrous little girl!'

'You've got the devil in you,Tom!'

'Pay attention,Persephone, now, how do you truly make one immortal?'

'I'm sorry,please Ms.Cole!'

'You're my father in everything but blood! Why haven't you whisked me away from this awful place?'

'I'll forever be alone. A freak.'

'MORT! MORT! Come back! Please!'

'I'm scared.'

'I'm scared.'

The children looked at the other with awe. Their expressions identical.

'You're like me.' Tom said, with happiness and relief,he wasn't the only one. He wasn't alone anymore.

'That... that wasn't supposed to happen!' She said,Sputtering,Persephone shook violently as she disappeared in air,Thomas yelling and trying to catch her;only latching onto the blue pendant that was around her neck,it glowed as he held it.

With smile on his face Thomas returned to the run down orphanage,he wasn't alone anymore and he knew one day she would be back, even if he had to wait for her. His little Persephone.
