The entity known as Death watched with heavy a heart that it didn't posses as one of the most pure souls it had the privilege to encounter drop dead;her murderer pointing his wand at her still breathing child.
Death watched as the green killing light left the mans wand,a last second decision on its part left the child still breathing with a bloodied, lightning, marking,a true testimony that she survived what was deemed impossible;even if she had a little help.
The child's mother and father watched with sad eyes as they disappeared while Death collected them, knowing that their child would survive;for now anyways.
In a wisp of black, Death turned its back on the child and her dead mothers body;it's cloak floating with each step it took, only to pause and walk back up to the child it knew couldn't see it;lest she was dead of course. Only for once, Death, was wrong, surprising the entity for the first time in its existence.
The human girl babbled and clapped her hands;paying no mind to the bleeding wound on her forehead as she reached out towards Death so fearlessly, her small, chubby hand grabbing one of deaths skeletal fingers as she quickly brought it to her mouth and openly chomped down;efficiently breaking Death's finger;not that it minded of course.
'You can see me,little one.' Death stated,it's voice ringing in the small nursery as it picked the child up;brining her close to its bony chest. 'I haven't any experience with children, other than collecting their souls, you're the first human child or human in general capable of seeing me without my three chosen items.' It said quietly, its deathly voice brining small giggles to the child who rested her head on the entities chest, her eyes growing heavy as the day came to an early end. 'Little One,you will be protected. I will ensure that.' Death stated, with certainly, holding the child tightly as they disappeared leaving behind black wisps;the trail that marked death had been there.
The entity, and child arrived in front of a muggle orphanage,it read Mary's home for girls. Death noted it was a run down little thing, however it knew if the child lived with her relatives they would be meeting again, for the baby would truly perish under their care. 'Welcome to 1928,Persephone,we will be meeting again, one day.' It stated, dropping the child off in the orphanage that perished in the the first Voldemort war, after all, what better way to protect a prophesied child than in the past where the future couldn't harm her?
