Tania froze in her chair before slowly swirling around to look at me with wide eyes, Mark simply glanced at his sister before just shrugging and playing it off.
"Lianna... I told you," she hissed at me and I just looked at her in confusion, "you can't fall for him."
"Oh yeah like I have any control of that," I retorted and she rolled her eyes at me.
"Do you have any idea how dangerous it is?" she questioned with a small hiss.
"I know but if you knew him Tania you would love him, I swear," I insisted and she just shook her head, "you would."
"It doesn't change the fact that it is dangerous," Tania pointed out and I immediately looked to Mark, who just glanced at me with a small sneer on his face.
"What?" he questioned and I just gestured to Tania, "yeah... what?"
"Do something, she's your sister," I insisted and Mark just sighed before closing his book and sitting up straight in his place.
"Look... I know that most times I'm a bit more accepting of the whole thing with getting involved with escape missions and generally just the West, but for once I actually agree with Tania," Mark admitted and I simply looked at him in shock, "the more you get involved with the West the more danger you're putting yourself in. Especially when you consider that you're already under audio survelliance, one step out of line and you would go straight away as well."
"But-" I started and Mark immediately shook his head at me.
"I'm serious Anna... it is dangerous what you're doing," he pointed out to me, "and by now it's reached a point where I am scared for you too."
I quietly looked between the twins once again. The fact that Mark suddenly was scared of what I was doing was enough to tell me that maybe it in fact wasn't the best idea with what I was doing.
"Let's just finish this history project," Tania sighed and ran a hand through her hair, "they said it had to be done before November 9th, for the 40 year celebration," she reminded and I quietly hummed and grabbed the book we were using from her desk before leaning back in her bed.
I quietly opened the book on page 182, where we had reached, before quietly beginning to read. It was some chapter that explained the differences between communism and the other ideologies such as socialism, marxism, facism, I think you get the big picture. Pretty much it was a whole chapter that told us why communism was much better than other ideologies.
"Tsk," I let out a small sound to grab the attention of both Mark and Tania, in the completely silent room, "do you think they'll do anything for the 40th celebration?"
"What could they possibly do?" Mark questioned with a deep sigh.
"I don't know... like... a festival... or... what if they let all Easterns pass into the West for the day with the promise to come back?" I excitedly spoke and both twins just looked at me with raised eyebrows.
"It would be too much of a pressure on the West. They society wouldn't be able to run around," Tania shook her head making me slump back in the seat I sat in.
"A festival would be nice though... some fun festivities," Mark pointed out and I excitedly nodded at him with a wide grin, "what if they bring western food?"
"They won't Mark," Tania sighed, "we're not supposed to interfere with the West and we do not like them."
"Tanny..." Mark sighed as he looked over at her, "we both know you prefer the West much over this place. Even Anna, who has never been there wants to run away," Mark stated and gestured to me.
"Well..." I squinted my eyes together, "if we can skip the part where I risk my life, then sure. But right now, not a chance."
Mark snickered at me before reaching over and ruffling my hair, to which I immediately slapped his hand away and flattened my hair down. In return he simply grinned at me as if he was the most innocent person to ever walk this earth. Which, if I might add, he surely wasn't.
"Ey stop it you smart arse," I complained in a low mutter as he just let out a small chuckle at me.
"Oh so I'm a smart arse now?" he questioned in amusement and I nodded at him, "what was I before then?"
"An idiot," I replied, "this means... woah, you just advanced an intelligence level. how impressive... and then from mister Mark Müller himself. Who would've thought you'd ever get smarter? Surely not me."
"Oh wow... you're so funny huh?" Mark sneered as he scrunched his nose up at me.
I glanced t him before nodding and looking back down to the phone in my lap once again, letting out a deep sigh at the sight of the boring pages I was to read. All white with black writing, no pictures.
"You know... I hope they at least do something for the celebrations," I whispered to which I only got a distracted hum in return.
