Part 3

“Everyone, this is Victor.” I announced, getting the attention of most people. “Victor this is Marlie, Karen, Stevie, Jack, Mark, Immy and obviously you know myself and North.” I move over a little so that he can sit next to me, not making him dive in the deep end. The people I have introduced to him are some of the nicest popular people in the school. There were others but I didn’t think that they would make him feel normal, more like a hunky man(which he is) and trying to get in his pants… Stop it Sang! Just thank the Lord that he can’t hear my thoughts right now.

I glanced over at North who was talking to Jack and Immy, one of the best couples in school. Jack wasn’t as tall as North but was just as muscular, his blonde hair and brown eyes could be that of a model but his heart was very large, especially when it comes to Immy. She’s a Norwegian girl who moved last year and when I talk to her, we are often in stitches.  I know North only really likes those two in our group and sort of puts up with the others, just as much as I do.

“So Victor…” Stevie said quite saucily. I rolled my eyes at her attempt on flirty nature. She was a little taller than me with bleach blonde hair and an awful lot of makeup on.  “Where was your last school?”

“Er, it was somewhere out of state.” He dodged the answer and seemed too in awe of him to recognise he was lying.

“Was everyone hot there or is it just you?” Marlie purred and I cringed. Victor looked mortified and I had to jump in to save him.

“Close your legs please ladies, I’m sure if Victor is interested then he will tell you ONCE HE’S GOT TO KNOW YOU!” I emphasised the last part and they seemed to sober up.

“Do you even have a girlfriend?” Asked Karen.

“I thought you were lesbian?” Stevie wondered. She is literally the dumbest sometimes.

“Yes but it doesn’t mean I can’t ask. God, if I talked to a guy it must be because I am turning straight again.” She sighed. She has so many conversations with Stevie about this but I knew secretly she saw the humour in it.  Deciding to give Victor a break from the onslaught of female attention he was getting from Marlie, Stevie and pretty much everyone else in the courtyard I offered a little shelter.

“What lessons do you have? I haven’t actually asked you yet.”

“Well I had Japanese first, next I have English, Music, Geography study hall and Media.” I saw Marlie mutter curse words as I think she realised she didn’t have any lessons with him.

“I should have English with you and North and I will be in your Media too!” I remarked and he seemed a little relieved. Oh my, he was handsome. Focus Sang. First and foremost you are his friend and that’s what he needs right now.

“We should get going to English, I’ll show you the way to music as well so you know your way there.” I picked up my bag and went to hug North.

“What do you think?” I whispered softly to his ear.

“He seems good; we might need to introduce him to it slowly.” I nodded and departed, saying farewells to the rest of the group.

We set off and on the way I mentioned where the music rooms would be.

“Do you play any instruments?” He asked.

“I used to play violin but I don’t anymore.” I said, not wanting to get into that topic. “What can you play?”

“Well that’s my gift or world power. I can pick up any instrument and know how to play it. My favourite is the cello though I play the piano most of the time.” We’d arrived at the door and he stopped me just at the door.

“Sang, I just wanted to thank you for taking me under your wing. I’m not sure I could be making any friends without you.” He said sincerely.

“You’re welcome but I really don’t think you needed my help. In fact, I might be hindering you chance to make more… acquaintances.” I said with a grin.

“What do you mean?” He asked but I ignored him and walked into the classroom. Immediately I saw a few people perk up and one girl, Imogen shouted to me.

“Hey Sang! Have you seen the new hottie round school that….” She trailed off as Victor entered with a mild blush on his face. I smiled at him and sat down behind Imogen, him being able to sit next to me. The girls gawped and the guys started half with jealousy and half in awe that he could get that much attention. I looked at him in an ‘I told you so’ way, which caused him to blush even more.

“Hi my name is Imogen but you can call me Im.” She announced, trying to sound smoky and I almost choked on my own breath. I glanced at Victor who tried with all his might not to laugh or to die of embarrassment.  They both seemed funny to me.

He, thankfully, didn’t have to reply as the teacher started talking about English classics that we were to read. He gave us a list of books before setting us a short essay on what our favourite English book was. I could imagine a lot of people writing about Harry Potter at this moment but I went for Sherlock Holmes, he just seemed so sassy.

The class was quite quiet as it wasn’t a topic that needed much discussion. A little way into it, a note dropped onto my desk and I was about to crumple it up when I saw it was neatly folded with my name on the top. I glanced at Victor who smiled at me before getting on with his work. I opened the note.

What’s going on with you and North? Are you guys together or just friends?

Oh boy, that was going to be a hard one to explain…
