The Mark of the Silon

Part 13

This was a long time coming, but it's finally here!!

Part 13

He stood up and make plenty of space around himself, I could tell he was a little nervous by the breathing techniques he was using.

"Have you told them what I can do?" He asked me and I shook my head. "Okay. My power is that I'm musical. I can pick up an instrument and play it within about 5 minutes."

"Seriously? Like anything?" Luke asked clearly in awe. Victor just nodded, a little blush creeping up on his cheeks.

"I wish I had that..." I heard Gabe grumble.

"Having co-ordination is a lot more useful that playing a few instruments" Victor replied and I smirked at a dumbfounded Gabe. The other guys were laughing at the remark and I just smiled at Victor, silently urging him to continue.

"My gift I guess is a little like Owens, I control fire." Immediately fire sprung from his hands. He created a ball of flames circling around each other until they collided. The flames spread out to create a beautiful fire flower that was about a foot in length.

"It's beautiful!" I told him and he smiled at me. Only a few seconds later, it completely disappeared without a trace.

"Does it hurt you at all?" I heard North ask.

"No, I can touch the fire I create. If it was another fire from somewhere else, I would have to control it first, by mostly gathering it's energy but that's a lot harder to do."

"Does it hurt someone else if they touch it?" Dr Sean asked.

"I don't know. I haven't done that before." He sat back down and I smiled at him. "What about yours Sang?"

"Oh yeah. My worldly power is to do with relationships. I know which ones are healthy and I get on well with many people because of my gift; that's why I'm with the 'popular' people at school."

"I'm not sure it's just that..." I heard Luke remark and a few of the guys grinned.

"Whatever. My gift is to share other people's gifts. If they are struggling to control it, I can help take some of the load off or just use it if I'm in contact with them. I can also take away gifts for a limited time."

"That's pretty cool." He told me honestly and I smiled at him.

"Would you like to learn a little more about what we are or just chill here for a while?" Silas asked which surprised me a little but I smiled at the thought of everyone making an effort.

"We could chill in here? Then if I have questions then I could just ask them." He suggested and we all nodded. Nathan and North went to choose a DVD to put on whilst Silas and Luke got the snacks.

"How long have you got until you go?" I asked Victor. He glanced a little nervously at his phone before answering me.

"About 30 minutes if I want to get back in time."

"We could get Nathan to teleport you? Then it'll only take a few seconds."

"But what about the car..." He asked.

"Don't worry, we can take it with us, if we just sit in the car then that will come with us." I smiled.

"Are you sure he won't mind?"

"Of course not. We are family now." I smiled gently at him. He returned the gesture as Luke and Silas were bringing down the snacks. I took one of the bottles of coke and poured myself a glass.

"So how did you guys meet?" I looked over to see Victor was talking to Kota and Nathan.

"Well we are all part of a thing called the Academy. It's a support system for Silons that help train and understand our powers and the history of them. You can meet up with Silons your own age and that's what we did, we knew we were a Tunid, a family, not long after the people joined. Sang and Owen were the first ones, followed by Nathan, Sean, North and Luke, me, Silas and Gabe."

"And now me?" Victor asked. This little question made my heart skip a beat. Does this mean he wants to be a part of our Tunid?

"And now you." Kota grinned, handing him some popcorn.

"What is it like to be in a Tunid?" This time Gabe was the one to answer.

"You feel like you always want to be around them. They make you happy, feel safe and can even enhance your powers. When you meet the Silons, you will know what we mean but for now, it's a little hard to explain."

"I guess, it's like picking out a group of friends." Luke added. "You sort of just feel right together. You know they're who you want to be with."

I glanced at Victor and saw he was still reeling in everything he had heard tonight, it wasn't hard to see he was still intrigued.

"Guys, I think we should call it quits for Silon talk today. I want to go outside and enjoy the sun while it's here." I said, standing up.

"It's always here." Luke mumbled and earned a few chuckles from various people. Nevertheless, they all stood up, some packing away and some taking up the snacks that were down here. Outside most of the guys began to play catch with a football whilst I lay on one of the comfy deck chairs. I placed my sunglasses over my eyes and I enjoyed the company that my boys gave me. Gabe was right, you just feel content with them nearby. It was about 15 minutes before Kota joined me with a different seat.

"Not digging football today?" I asked as he shook his head. I grinned at him, knowing how much he hates any sport with a ball. "Was it weird this evening?"

"To find out that me and my best friend were both hiding a secret from each other not knowing it was the same one? Yeah that's pretty weird." He laughed as he stretched out. "He's doing well though, like he's already fitting in."

"Yeah I'm pleased. We've only known each other for a few days but i already care for him so much. I finally feel full in our family and honestly I'm so happy that last one has come. I'm just worried he won't stay." I said quietly, voicing the fear I've begun having.

"Look at him. He has already become so happy with us. I know we are a Tunid but family is a choice. I'm a little worried too but so would anyone, he completes us and when he realised that we complete him, it'll work out." He took my hand and begun stroking it.

We said nothing more, as it was not needed. We both knew what the different outcomes may be and we could only wish that he would stay with us.

So I know it's been a very long time but I'm finally free from holidays and exams so I have more time to write for you all!
