Seonghwa's POV

October 7, 2020

9:45 PM

There it is.

There's Hongjoong's car.

We were definitely too late.

I did not even wait for the car to completely stop.

I ran straight up, looking around for any sign of Hongjoong. After what felt like a lifetime, I saw him dragging her down the hall. He had sedated her and was carrying her bridal style towards his car.

I took off after him, calling Yeosang. He answered quickly.

"Hello?"

"Don't you dare drive off with her in the car. Yeosang I am so fucking serious. You can't let him do this."

"I'm sorry Hwa. You know how it is with him. If we don't listen he will go off on another murder spree. I'm sorry, but I mean you hardly even know her. Sacrificing one life for what could be hundreds."

It hurt that he was half right.

"No. Yeosang you can't seriously think that. She didn't fucking do anythin-!"

I was cut off by the phone hanging up.

Damn that must have been how Ashley felt.

I ran in front of the car, "Hongjoong let her go!"

He climbed out of the car, the same maniacal laugh as always.

"You're so attached to her. It's kind of funny." He gripped my collarbone which caused me to cringe in pain, "It is kind of fun to watch you squirm."

I winced, looking up at his eyes, "This isn't like you." was all I managed to get out.

His grip softened and he threw me to the ground, scoffing.

"Not like me? Not like me?!" He started to raise his voice at me.

"Well what do you think?! You're a mass murder.. a fucking mafia boss and you expect me to reminisce on old times?! I'm stuck in the constant mourning of my friend! Something died in you. It left behind the shell of a man, and no. I don't fucking know who you are anymore."

I can't believe I just said that. I let it all out. I had stood up and straightened my jacket.

He stared at me in disbelief. It took a moment for each of us to make the next move.

I stepped back towards the car, carefully carrying Ashley from the back. Yeosang couldn't even make eye contact with me. He looked down at the wheel, ashamed.

"I expect an apology." I scoffed, carrying Ashley back to the car with Mingi. After buckling her in I climbed in and gave Mingi the destination. It was a relief she was still out.

"Go back to my apartment. It's probably safer there."

As we headed back I stared out the window, remembering the day that I first saw her.

The day she saved my life.
