3 (Injured!!!)

Just as Lan Xichen had said, Wei Ying didn't appear the next day and Lan Zhan kept waiting but sadly not even a glimpse of reddish black tail appeared.

And he had to go too since their Uncle wanted to talk to themso he had no choice but to go. With a last glance at the sea lan Zhan turned his back and left not knowing that the one he was waiting was already there just hiding.

Wei Ying badly wanted to get close to his love. Yes he already love the guy so much even though they haven't met properly. All he wanted was to get to know him and spend time with him.

But it's not the time yet. He needed to make sure he'll be in safe hands once he gets close to him. He didn't want to end u being taken away and having Jiang Cheng and his Shijie worry over him.

Once he couldn't see Lan Zhan's form anymore he went under and headed deeper. He wanted to get something special to give to his handsome guy. A token and thank you for the bag full of hiss favorite drink.

"Mm... what should I get him? Oh, I can get him the pearls of giant clams. Yes that's the perfect gift." Wei Ying talked to himself as he swam faster. The clams he was after are located pass the fire corals just a few miles away from Lotus Cove.

It wasn't long before the blue water turned reddish as the fire corals appeared in view. Fire corals are deadly if used the wrong way as they burn the flesh so intensely. And as it's name had said it's like fire burning the skin. Many cove actually use fire corals as defense against the evil sirens that dared to come into their cove.

So Wei Ying had to swim carefully and avoid getting touched by those fire corals or else he might attract sharks if he gets injured. He'd end up as shark food.

"Alright Wei Ying remember the pattern. Left, right, under, up, over and repeat."

Wei Ying reminded himself the pattern he created to avoid the fire corals. He took a deep breath before giving a powerful swing of his tail he zoomed passed the first three fire corals. He kept moving with the pattern swerving from left to right as he sped up.

With another powerful swing he darted pass the last fire corals and into the giant clams domain.

"Finally. Now it's time to collect some pearls."

With his small magical pouch in hand he carefully grabbed each and every pearl he sees until there was nothing left. He had about collected a hundred. With a satisfied smile Wei Ying turned back to the fire corals.

This time the journey back became dangerous as tiger sharks roamed above the fire corals. Slowly Wei Ying swam past a fire coral. He wanted t swim fast but that would attract the sharks and he might get injured so he swam slowly.

Wei Ying took a careful turn but stopped when large electric eels locked his path. They we feasting on a dead fish so they didn't notice him yet.

Lan Zhan sat in his usual spot.  Though his face was blank, his eyes held anger. He was angry as his Uncle tried to drag him into an arrange marriage. He may ntot voice it out but he hated the thought of someone standing beside him. At least not a girl.

His mind wandered to the merman he caught in his arms. Those mesmerizing silver eyes paired with long black hair and reddish black tail. The man was a beauty and he badly wanted to see him again.

Beside him was another bag full of emperor smile. He wanted to somehow make a deal with the beautiful mermaid.

A splashing of water caught his attention. Lan Zhan turned to a group of rocks that was being hit by the waves. At first he dismissed the splashing sound since the waves are hitting the rock but when a whimper was heard he immediately rose from his position.

Lan Zhan carefully made his way to the other side and what he saw nearly broke his heart. The beautiful merman he had seen yesterday was covered in blood and many bite marks and... Burns?

Without thinking Lan Zhan jumped into the water and went towards the injured mer. He took off his coat and wrapped it around the now unconscious merman before carrying him out of the water.

Once out of the water Lan Zhan sat down gently with the merman in his lap and took out his waterproof phone. He called his brother before trying to stop some of the bleeding wounds.

Most of the wounds have stopped bleeding but some were to deep that blood kept pouring out so he had to use his second shirt to wrapped it around the bloody wounds.

"Wangji what's wro-" lan Xichen came running but halted once he saw the situation. Without a word he too took off his coat and gave it to his little brother before running back to the car.

He drove it as near as he could so his brother won't have trouble carrying the unconscious merman into the car.

"We can't bring him to a hospital since he isn't really human.  If they find out what he is they might try and take him to a lab so we'll head to Wen Qing's home. She'll be able to help him."

"Mm." Lan Zhan absentmindedly said as he kept looking at the beautiful male in his lap. Lan Xichen's coat was wrapped around his legs since he turned to human after Lan Zhan carried him out of the water.

"This is surprising and very serious. These injuries aren't caused by just one animal." Wen Qing a famous doctor said as she examined the unconscious mer. She had a lot of experience with mermaid's since she saved someone back then.

"The burns are from the famous fire corals, while the scratch like injuries must be from giant eels and the bite marks would be from sharks."

Both Lan brothers had a puzzled look. "Fire corals?" Lan Xichen asked the question for both of them.

"As it's name suggest it is corals that has a burning sensation once touched. Those corals are hidden from us humans by weird forces and only mers know where it is."

Wen Qing took all the needed equipments before she pushed Lan Xichen out while Lan Zhan stayed sitted beside the unconscious mer.

"Don't worry. This one will survive." Wen Qing murmured as she started removing a few pieces of flesh that was left hanging from the open wound.
