Bottles Of Promises

2 (Fishing???)

Lan Zhan carried a whole bag of emperor smile and a net as he and his brother went to his spot. Aside from the bag and net he also made his brother carry a few more things. A fishing rod included.

"Wangji is this really necessary?"

"Mn."

"We are catching a person here not a fish." Lan Xichen pointed out as he matched his brother's fast pace.

It took them a while before reaching the spot. And just like before it was only the two of them there. No other people could be seen for miles.

"How would someone steal your drink if there wasn't even any people here? This place looks so empty."

Lan Zhan didn't bother answering his brother as he set up the drinks placing two bottles first before preparing the net.

On the otherhand Wei Ying is happily waving as he bid his brother goodbye. As soon as the purple tale vanished his smile dropped before he swam back to his cave.

But the clinking sound of bottles against rock had hi turning the other way. His head popped out of the water as he hid behind the rock.

He saw two bottles placed at the usual spot and the handsome guy's back slowly getting smaller.  With a grin he dove under and swam towards the rock.

Very slowly he raised a hand making sure his head stayed under the water before trying to snatch the bottles, instead he was the one who was snatched as a hand held onto his hand and suddenly pulled hard pulling his whole body out of the water.

Droplets of water flew in the air as Wei Ying became a flying fish before landing into the arms of the handsome guy.

"Wha...."

"AHHH... Y-you are so shameless can't you see I'm naked." Wei Ying shrieked as his tail turned to legs, a painful first for him since he never really dared try to change since the process is quite painful. But due to shock he didn't feel a thing except the stinging and soreness.

"Wangji!" Lan Xichen gaped as he saw his brother holding a very naked man who had been a merman a few seconds ago. And here he thought his brother just wanted to fish but he never really thought that they would literally catch a fish.

"Okay handsome guy. I don't know what you want but can you please get me back into the water?" Wei Ying broke the silence as he nervously fidgeted with his fingers.

The man he had been seeing a lot was now carrying him and staring at him so shamelessly while he lay naked in his arms. Talk about unexpected events, earlier he only bid farewell to his brother but now here he is.

Lan Xichen placed a hand on Lan Zhan's shoulder. "Wangji put him back."

"Mn."

With that Lan Zhan tossed the pretty mermaid back to the sea like he was nothing. A loud splash came before Wei Ying emerged. He glared at this man apparently called Wangji before sending a big wave that drench both men from head to toe.

"Hmp. Next time be gentle or else I'll make sure the waves are much bigger than that." Instead of snatching the two bottles Wei Ying went for the bag full of it then swam away.

He wasn't that mad anymore since he got something in exchange which is the bag full of his favorite drink.

While the other two still stood frozen eyes staring at the place where the bag used to be. Lan Xichen pinched his cheek before doing the same for his brother.

"Okay not a dream." lan Xichen mumbled before he turned to his little brother who was still silent eyes fixed onto the rock. "Wangji?"

Lan Zhan gave his brother a blank look before grabbing the remaining bottles and net before walking away.

"You can see him again Wangji. But since he had a bag of those drnk then I guess it might take a few days before you see him again."

No reply. Lan Xichen could only sigh. He wasn't even surprised when Wangji felt sad when the beautiful yet mischievous merman left. Perhaps it was love at first sight for his little brother.

"Wahh finally my dream came true! How handsome my hubby is and how strong he is for even managing to pull me out of the water." Wei Ying exclaimed as he danced happily inside his cave. The bag was safely placed away from the water so it wouldn't accidentally fall.

"My handsome hubby really is strong. My tail carries most of my weight and he easily lifted me up and even held me close to his chest." A dreamy look was placed onto Wei Ying's face as he kept replaying the image of what happened earlier.

"Hehehe.... I can't wait for tomorrow to come." He checked his collections and made sure non would suddenly and accidentally fall into the water before diving down.

The cave has another part of it which is submerged and there Wei Ying's room is located. He badly wanted to take one bottle with him but he didn't. The water will turn those delicious drink into tasteless ones since they are from land so they should stay on land.

Wei Ying made himself cozy in his soft rock bed. The room was dimly lit by a few cave crystals that he took from the surface. It stands as his nightlight to keep the dark away and it calms him down whenever he wakes up from a nightmare.

With the handsome guy as his last thought he fell asleep with a bright smile on his face.

Lan Zhan on the other hand tossed and turned in his bed as the image of the beautiful merman never left his mind since they got back home.

The face of the beautiful merman had been stuck in his head and no matter how much he tried to meditate and clear his mind the image would still reappear.

It was as if he was on a spell unable to break free. The beauty the man held captivated him. He wanted to see him again yet at the same time wanted to erase his face from his mind.

Unable to sleep Lan Zhan went out of his room and went to the balcony. The city air calmed him down and cleared his mind.

A soft tune disturb the silence as Lan Xichen played his flute. He knew his little brother was troubled and opted to stay silent so he helped by playing a calming tune to ease him even more.

That eased Lan Zhan enough for him to finally fall asleep.
