Siblings Are Annoying. Kinda.

Evil revenge plans of evilness

Ugh.

My arms hurt.

Flopping face forward into my bed- I let out a huge sigh. My arms hurt from carrying Mushroom all the way home, and I wasn't exactly looking forward to updating Enchantress on our humiliating victory. I lifted my face from the pillow, looking accross the room to Mushrooms small 'bed'. They had a small mound of pillows and blankets on the other side of the bedroom- something they allways refused to sleep on. Instead, a while after I place them down, they eventually wake up to come lay with me. Not that I'd be able to tell them no, even if I wanted too. It's nice to know their safe.

I slowly sat up, rubbing my eyes. Those cookies where... interesting. The audacity to say I wear rags- Disgusting. Consitter my ego fairly briused.

Before I could stew any further, a sharp knock came to the door. I flinched a bit, looking over to Mushroom while quickly getting up. Luckily, they hadn't been woken. I can only imagine this is Enchantress- How she knew we where back I don't quite know. I closed the bedroom door, before opening our front.

Guessed it.

"Ah- So you are back," She blinks. "So? Updates?"

"...We kind of bombed, like- Royally." I blink back. Humiliating.

She sighs, crossing her arms and inviting herself inside. I mean, it was technically her house anways. "How unfortunate. I do suppose it was a bit much to just send you- However I did trust you to be able to Handle a few cookies by now." Ouch. I shut the door, silently listening. This happened every time I failed.

"After all I've done for you, I'd expect you to want to put more effort into repaying me." She sighs, sitting down at our counter. "After all, I didn't need to help you."

"Yes Ma'am, I understand," I nodded. "Next time will be diffrent- I'll make sure they're gone okay?" I ask. She was right- She didn't need to help us. I really am in her debt, for helping both me and Mushroom.

"I'd hope so." She sighs, tapping her fingers on the counter while looking around. "You two really need to tidy up in here,"

"Huh? It's clean enough!" I blink, looking around.

"Of course you think so- A teenaged boy and a toddler don't have very high standards do they?" She sighs. "Whatever- You'll have plenty of time to clean later I suppose." Enchantress pauses a bit, as I awkwardly stood before her. I felt like a child, being scolded by his mother. To an extent, wasn't that what this is?

"I'm sending somebody else to finish your job in the cookie kingdom." She finally spoke up.

Excuse me?

"I said I can do it! I don't need help from whoever your sending," That worried me- What if she abandons us? What if she doesn't need us after this? She can't leave us. "I can d-"

"Silence." She snaps. "You've failed me. Plain and simple. I needed this job done and you've proven yourself unreliable. So until you show improvement, your jobs will be taken by others. Understood?" She asks, standing.

I nod.

"Good." She sighs. "Now- Clean this living room. I'm not even going to bother checking your room, I know it's probably so much worse. Just get it back to standard living condition and I'll be happy- I suppose." She headed for the door, placing a hand on the knob. "Don't make it a habit to take for granted the kindness I've shown you, boy. Don't fail me like this again." She left.

I sat at the counter, sighing. Why was it so serious? Why can't she tell me what she wanted the kingdom for, anways?

No, I shouldn't think like that. It IS serious. I failed her. And if I keep this up, I'll fail Mushroom too. We Rely on her- I can't mess this up.

I just need to out do whoever she's sending to that stupid kingdom first.
