We both stopped, looking back to him for a moment. He seemed relieved, pinching the bridge of his nose with his cake arm.
"Finally-" He grunts, shaking his head with another hand on his hip. "You two act like children-"
"Who's watching?" Pomegranate demanded, as Choco quickly put his hand under his cape to hold the handle of his sword.
"I'm not sure- But look over there, behind that cake tree- Don't you see something?" He asks, nodding his head to gesture ahead of him to the thick, dense forest.
We all looked in the direction he mentioned- Sure enough, somebody appeared to be watching through some candy brush lining the forest floor. They were slightly obscured, but just visible enough to see green clothing peeking out from the brown and pink brush of the cake forest.
"Come out this instant!" Red Velvet was the first to call out, reaching back to grab hold of the large, Serrated sword strapped to his back. "We have you outnumbered, come out quietly and nobody has to get hurt here."
The brush shuffled a bit- Whoever it was no doubt debating coming out to greet us.
"Under the command of Dark Enchantress Cookie herself, I Don't want to repeat myself. Come out unarmed or lose your life." Red Velvet once again commanded.
I looked back to him for a moment- He really is impressive. Unlike me and my phony evil facade, this seemed to be all but natural to him. Taking a commanding tone, it was almost as if this whole evil thing wasn't really a struggle to him like it was me.
...
I don't like to think like that though.
I can't possibly be struggling with something I rely so heavily on. Sure, unlike Everybody else here I wasn't always this way, But I need to be now.
The cookie in the brush didn't come forth still- Seemingly scared to approach us. I took it Apon myself to act.
Unveiling my scythe, I began making my way to the brush.
"Haut, they may be armed," Dark Choco warns hesitantly.
I scoff-
Time for the evil act again.
"Why should I, Licorice Cookie, Direct underling of Dark Enchantress Cookie herself, Be afraid of some lonesome cookie? Armed or not," I raised a brow, peering back at him for a moment.
He nodded silently, A green light to continue.
I approached the brush quietly, I poked at the brush a bit. A small yelp came from it.
"We told you to come out." I said sternly. "Stand slowly."
After a brief moment, the cookie finally complied with our demands. As the figure slowly stood, it was no hard task assessing him of no threat. He was short, With white hair and forest green eyes. He wore a hat similar to that of a witch, and in his hands was clutched a small instrument. He seemed nervous; Head slightly tilted down as he looked at me.
"Well?" Velvet asked. "Who is it?" His tone sounded slightly impatient, but also slightly excited in a way. He'd been itching too, in his own words, 'Kick some ass' today- Perhaps he thought this was his chance to fight.
"State your name." I really did try my best to sound threatening, but my words came out slightly more compassionate than I'd like to admit. I do blame my fight with Pomegranate cookie for spreading me thinner than usual.
He shifted a bit, finger tapping the wooded body of his stringed instrument. "Clover. I am Clover Cookie." Opposed to his physical domineer, his voice came out soft and unworried- Even soothing in a way.
"And what are you doing out here-?" I ask, head tilting slightly. My tone had shifted from commanding, to more of a genuine question. He seemed to notice this, even smiling a bit.
"I come to the forest simply to sing to the animals here, Nothing more." His voice again calm and soft. "I truly mean no harm; I doubt I'd be much of a threat compared to you!" He laughed, seeming to calm down a bit. "You all startled the cake hounds I was serenading; I couldn't think to do much but hide and hope you all passed me by."
He sings to animals.
Mushroom would absolutely love this guy-
"Cake hounds?!"
Oh- I seemingly forgot who also has a liking for the animals that reside in the forest- As velvet hurriedly approached, he pulled a small stack of photos from his pocket. "I've got a few myself- And while I can't say I have favorites, Chiffon here-"
"Ahem." Pomegranate cookie cuts in, making her way to the small group beginning to form. "Anyways, enough talk of the cake hounds." She stated this coldly, Even Red Velvet put his photos slowly back into his pocket. "You directly disobeyed orders given out to you by the word of our master, Dark Enchantress Cookie. This is not an action we take lightly, It directly disrespects our great Master."
Ok... I take back what I said about Red Velvet-
Shes the one good at all the evil stuff-
"I do apologize miss," Clover frowned a bit. "I do know of your master, But I simply do not live by her rule or teachings. Call it a conflict of interest?" He nervously laughed.
"We call it treason." She coldly quips back. "A direct act against our lord." I myself nodded along- But strangely felt wrong in doing so. Why was this suddenly a big deal? He wasn't hurting us.
"And for this treason, you will pay with your life."
