Epilogue

The tingly sensation of the warm, heated and carpeted floor was the first thing she felt instead of the cold, hard ground.

Vanessa groaned as she opened her eyes. She sat up, rubbing the back of her head as she looked around, blinking her eyes to clear her vision.

"Huh? Oh, we're back! Finally!" She cheered, forgetting her aching head. 

"Looks like we are," Daniel agreed, and she turned to look at him, noticing Lonz and Matt too, who were on the bed and the floor respectively. "Though, I feel like someone just took a baseball bat to my head," he muttered, rubbing his head.

"I'm trying to sleep and rest, hush," Lonz mumbled, picking up a pillow and throwing it at Daniel, who caught it easily, laughing. "We're out of that hellhole at last,"

"Guys look!" Matt cried, making the others turn to him. He picked up the Goosebumps book, pulling out the note that had been sticking out from between its pages.

They gathered around him as he sat down on the bed, placing the book to the side.

'You did it! You broke the curse of Mayfield's! Thank you!' -Reggie Mayfield.

"Well then," Daniel began, looking up at his friends who were smiling as much as he was. "All's well that ends well, am I right?"

"That was one hell of an adventure!' Vanessa exclaimed, falling back on the bed. "But it was actually quite fun!"

"It was, but I'm glad it's over," Matt added, tucking the note back into the book. "And we lived!" With that the four high-fived each other, laughing together.

"And where were you four again?" A new voice interrupted, and they all jumped, turning to see Aella at the door. "Mum!" Vanessa cried.

"You guys disappeared after lunch yesterday, and we were really starting to get worried that we wouldn't be able to find you even for breakfast today!" she explained. "Atleast you kids are alright," she sighed, walking towards them, ruffling their hairs one by one. "Care to explain what happened?"

It was silent for a moment. The Quartet looked at each other, and then collectively at the Goosebumps book that Matt had put away.

"An adventure is what happened!" Vanessa was the one who broke the silence with a little laugh. "And you know what? We're going to tell you and the others all about it, won't we guys?"

"We will!" Daniel and Matt agreed, laughing. "We're taking over storytime today Aella! Kwazii's pirate tales can wait till tomorrow!" Lonz cheered, jumping off the bed with renewed energy.

Aella looked round at them, before shaking her head with a laugh as she pressed the Octo-alert. "Octonauts, to the library!" The Silver Quartet cried at the same time as they ran out the door after each other, an amused Aella right after them.

Meanwhile, the now abandoned Goosebumps book fluttered open, stopping at a random page. The text read at the bottom of the page read:
