Eren X Reader~ The Captain's Godchild

EREN X READER- PICKING UP THE PIECES

Months had passed since all the incidents, both (Y/N) and Eren had finally worked hard enough on themselves to esure nothing like that ever happens again. Recently Eren had been training with the Captain while (Y/N) had been researching with Hanji. Things began to take a turn for the good of things, both being happier. More scouts had been recruited including most of the top ten of the 104th cadets. They've changed, mature and much older. (Y/N) noticed small changes, such as Jean's stronger leadership skills or Sasha's excellent aim. They even noticed Bertholdt coming more out of his shell, talking to more people, using his brains and fighting efforts to better a team. Everyone had changed. Even Reiner. Yet (Y/N) couldn't help but notice a guilty looking expression wash over Reiner and Bertholdt whenever they spoke to Eren, Mikasa, Armin and themselves. Something felt off; and the idea that humans could be titans almost secured the idea. Yet, they wanted to refuse to think this, they where to kind to save Eren and others multiple times. This idea stuck with (Y/N), they couldn't stop thinking about it.
             Guilt. It was constantly in the atnosphere, yet this is what the scouts built their missions and purposes in. Development in many things such as titan research and plans for up coming expaditions. (Y/N) began to get back on their feet finally feeling better after the horrors they'd witnessed earlier on in the year. (Y/N) used the pent up fustration and annoyance in their training ultimately improving their performance once more. Levi too was back on his feet after the damage was once done, he noticed (Y/N) training bringing a small smile back onto his dark and sullen face. Erwin noticed how his emotionless friend had finally come back. Levi decided he would allow (Y/N) and Eren to be back and close to eachother, as both had recovered and Levi had hoped that Eren would open up to (Y/N) more than himself. Erwin perposed the idea noting how much Eren would ask if (Y/N) is okay and vice versa. Both Levi and Erwin decided that them both meeting together the next morning would be better as that way they have the full day around HQ while other soldiers went home for two nights within the walls as after a long and disturbing experditions they allow the scouts to go home once more to the comfort of their family, or what was left of the families.
            Slowly, Levi approached (Y/N) with caution as they where training on the arching grounds. Levi spoke in a soft tone towards his Godchild: ' (Y/N) both me and Erwin have decided we will be keeping an eye on you both within my squad once more, and to add to this tomorrow and the day after we give you permisson to chill with eachother and do as you must around HQ as long as you two don't create a huge mess.' (Y/N) turned as their eyes lit up in excitement. ' Alright i guess i can wait one more night!' they smiled as they approached Levi, giving him one final hug before they both headed in for tea.
           For this evenings tea, Moblit and (Y/N) made cream of mushroom soup. The lush smell filled the HQ walls as it drew soldiers to the meal room for one final meal before setting off home. Soldiers gathered as they colected their warm hearty soup and then joined the rest on the wooden tables. For a moment (Y/N) allowed their eyes to drift amongst the injured and scared soldiers and smiled. They admired everyones bravery, as strange as it sounded. HQ was buzzing with noise and energy as Hanji and others started to dance upon the tables as they where experdition free for a few months which created an uproar amongst the scouts with smiles which could be seen all around. (Y/N) allowed a smile to rest upon their face as the joy and excitement of finally being able to speak and hang around with Eren tomorrow set in.
            Eventually the joyess night came into a close as many tired and excited scouts made their way into their rooms for the cold night. (Y/N) cleaned up their own pots before heading to their empty dorm. A smile appeared on their face as they got ready for what would feel like one of the longest nights. They got into bed and instantly fell asleep with a book in hand. Slowly the evenening turned into morning, the sound of horses galloping towards the walls woke (Y/N) from their sleep. A smile crept upon their face as they leaped out of bed once more.
