Third POV

Alastor had gone back to his normal form when the boy had died. When he had looked back to Salem to ask if she was hungry he stopped. Only for a moment since he had been surprised. Salem's pupils had changed from their usual slits into hearts.

"Salem my dear, do you prefer your human flesh raw or cooked?" he asked, remembering to keep an eye out for Salem's changing pupils.

This had not been the first time they had changed. It would not be the last time either. Though there were far more shapes and changes to Salem's eyes than what had been seen. Even so, the few changes that Alastor had seen thus far made him curious. Made him want to learn even more about the fox demon.

First Person POV

Alastor had cooked up the boy for us. It was delicious and I was surprised at the seasonings he had used. Though it did teach me that Alastor had likely been a cannibal in life as well. Even so I was enjoying my time hanging out with him. Plus I had been a bit of a cannibal myself so who was I to judge. If hanging with Alastor had done anything in the end I think it might have led to me falling further in love with him.

"How do you like it my dear?" he asked.

"It is delicious Alastor. I do like the seasoning, it gives it a nice flavor." I told him with a soft smile.

"I'm glad my dear. Though I am curious about something, if you don't mine me asking." he said before popping a sauteed finger into his mouth.

"Of course, what is it?" I encouraged, becoming curious of what he wanted to ask me.

"Are you aware that your eyes change?" he asked me curiously with a growing grin.

I have no idea what he was talking about. As though to prove a point my shadow appeared with a mirror. Looking in the reflection I saw that my pupils were shaped like hearts. My cheeks started to heat up. My eyes literally were revealing how I felt. Traitors.

This was not something that happened while I was alive. So, obviously I had not expected for this to happen. In fact I didn't even know it was even possible. Guess I needed to do some research and experiments.

Having my emotions showing so openly is embarrassing. It makes me feel like I may as well be parading around nude with a sign that says 'take advantage of me'. Is there a way that I could keep this from happening? Will I have to start wearing sunglasses from now on? What was I going to do?

"Are you alright my dear?" Alastor asked me.

"Y-yeah I'll be okay...I...I didn't realize that my eyes did this." I told him honestly.

Alastor chuckled, "It is alright my dear. I had a feeling you didn't." he said.
