here's the thing.

i was gonna make a surprise sad ending for this book. something that goes like everyone thinks that the final leap will be a happy ending for everyone, but it was a tragic future for mikey and kazua. i had that idea.

it was so detailed when i thought about it one night, and i swear i cried a little when i imagined how it would go. honestly, i was thinking of making a sad ending because it somehow feels like the story was way too good to be true after we saved those who were originally dead in the tokyo revengers plot. i was thinking that in exchange of saving everyone, kazua needs to die.

wanna know why i ditched it?

because i completely forgot about the scenario i made up in my mind that one midnight.

i'm serious about that, by the way.

i was gonna do it, but i couldn't remember a single detail about it when i tried to. apart from kazua supposedly dying and leaving mikey with a kid to raise himself, my mind was completely blank. it didn't feel right for me if i were to make up another sad epilogue if it wasn't the first one i thought of, so i settled with making the original good ending instead. i already wrote a breakdown of how the original epilogue was gonna go, anyway.

after all, it was a promise i made to myself when i made this book.

sano manjiro deserves a happy ending and he got it.
