A/N: This chapter is going to be really short because it's basically a filler chapter that tells you what the orphanage looks like, what places are in it, and just in general what it's like. Pretty much the entire story takes place here, so I thought it'd be worth it to give y'all a feel for what the workers act like, what the bedrooms are like, and what things the kids have access to. To be honest, the only parts of this chapter that are important to the storyline are the next two paragraphs and the last paragraph. The rest is all pretty much room decorations and descriptions. The story does get more interesting, it's not all like this, trust me.

~Philza's POV~

I walked into the orphanage for the first time with a suitcase of stuff. I wasn't sure what to expect in the orphanage. I knew that no one really ever got adopted here, so I don't have to worry about meeting families and all of that. And of course, like I always do, I ignored the emotions that came as a result of being left completely behind after a divorce. I can deal with them at a later time when I'm more comfortable, if ever.

When I walked into the building, a worker there took my papers and assigned me to a new bedroom. I currently have a room to myself, but was informed that I'd likely get a roommate in a few weeks. They weren't there at the moment because court stuff was still getting worked out.

I then was taken to my room. It was very basic, with white walls, a white desk with a white metal desk lamp, wood floor, a wooden bunk bed with white sheets, a nightstand with a clock and a lamp with a white lampshade on it, and a white dresser. The worker immediately left, and I settled in, and decided that I'd choose which bunk I felt like sleeping in each night, since they're both mine until his roommate arrives.

I then left for the dining room, where a few other orphans living there and I gathered to eat dinner. I sat alone and ate quickly, wanting to explore and get to know the place that will now be my home until I turn 18.

After dinner, I find that there's a library with a decent amount of books (like not as many as an actual library would have, but several bookshelves' full). I discovered that you can take a book to read as long as you write your name and the date you took the book, and if someone else wants the book after you've had it for over 2 weeks, you have to give it to them. There also are 3 computers in the corner. They're pretty old and slow, and because of the rules I can use them for homework and finding jobs online, but can't download Minecraft or other games.

There is also a room that apparently was originally supposed to have a purpose, or maybe it used to a long time ago, but it isn't used anymore. It has a few random mismatched chairs, a couch, a built-in window seat, and a table in it. No one really seems to use it, so I plan to hang out there if I need a place to be alone or hang out and don't want to be in my room.

I then go to sleep.

Over the course of the next week, I found a job as a paid intern for a small home decor business.
