Once Max and Pocacty heard that they both froze. Max felt his heart drop. They knew the duo fled somewhere nearby. Max quickly took Pocacty's hand and quietly rushed down the hall.
He quickly opened the door to a random classroom, got them both inside, and shut the door behind them. Max sighed and spoke.
Max: "So much for walking to the shed. Guess we have to teleport somewhere else."
Pocacty: "What now Master?"
Max didn't really know what to do now. He needed to teleport somewhere where there would be no one around. He could teleport anywhere in the world, but he needed a place where they wouldn't look.
After a few moments of thinking, he thought of something. He thought that the best place to hide would be right under the devil's noses.
Max: "How about we hide at the house?"
Pocacty: "But w-wouldn't that be too dangerous?"
Pocacty stuttered a few words, still tired out from the Twilight Healing, but she refused to sleep. Not until the both of them remained safe.
Max: "Well, the more I think of it, the more I think it would work. We could hide right where they don't expect us to. The Hyoudou Residence contained so many rooms and floors. Six floors, the roof, three basement floors. There are many places to hide, and I think the third basement floor is the best option."
Pocacty: "Why?"
Max: "The third basement floor is usually just used for storage and is vacant. There's a library, but I don't think anyone is gonna use it today."
Pocacty: "A-are you sure? I'm not sure if it's safe."
Max: "As much as I hate to say it, nowhere is really safe now."
Pocacty: "A-alright Master."
Max created a magic circle and Pocacty stood close to him. The duo then teleported and found themselves in the storage area of the third basement level of the residence.
Max: "Okay, we're here."
Pocacty: "What now Master?"
Max: "We should stay here and wait until nighttime. Let's find a good hiding spot."
Pocacty let out a yawn.
Pocacty: "Okay Master."
They both found a hiding spot behind a few crates near the end of a hallway. They both sat down with their backs against the wall, and then Max spoke up.
Max: "Pocacty, are you sleepy?
Pocacty: "N-no."
Max: "I can tell you're tired Pocacty. Just sleep."
Pocacty: "No, I-I need to be awake to help keep you safe."
Max sighed, and then pushed Pocacty's head to rest on his lap.
Pocacty: "Hey!"
Max: "Pocacty, just rest. It'll be fine."
Pocacty desired to argue further, but she knew Max always stood his ground at times like this. Max pet her head to comfort her and she felt herself slowly drift off to sleep. After a few minutes, Max began to think.
Max: "Wait, some of these crates could have some stuff to help us. Maybe some of my things are down here too."
He looked at the sleeping Pocacty and thought about ways to maneuver around her. He slowly lifted her with care and looked around for a place to hide her.
