The goat and the mole

If she had known that spending time with Carmen Sandiego would mean breaking into this many rooms only to talk to people the room belongs to, Julia would have questioned her ideas of what a vacation is. Yet, she finds herself sitting in yet another apartment, one belonging to Carmen's old classmates, in waiting for them to return from their run from her A.C.M.E partners.

She already knows that they Zack and Ivy have lost sight of them, Chase made sure to keep making, what Ivy calls, unnecessary comments about what they are doing. At least the comments were just annoying for Zack and Ivy, for her, Carmen and Shadowsan, they helped a lot. Turning her attention towards her girlfriend, Julia can see how the scarlet thief is pashing in the room.

She knew this was going to be hard for her, to come face to face with people she had once called friends, people Julia knows she never really had a problem with from the start. Deep down, Julia can't help but to hope that the two V.I.L.E agents have turned a new leaf and is trying to live a normal life. Since they own the taco truck is only adding to Julia's hope.

Seeing how Carmen is close to her once more, Julia reaches out and grabs hold of her girlfriend's arm, making her stop and turn.

"You are making me grow worried when you keep walking back and forth like that. Everything will be alright Carm."

She tells the former thief who takes a deep breath before nodding her head. Giving her a smile, Julia let's go of her arm, only for Carmen to grab hold of her hand before she sits down beside her on the couch. They let the silent take over as they wait, and Julia starts to wounder if the Le Chevre and El Topo might not be returning here since Zack and Ivy have found them.

That worry disappear only a few seconds later when they hear voices from the other side of the front door. She can hear them argue with one another and from the corner of her eye, Julia can see how Carmen rolls her eyes at this. Smiling slightly, this almost reminds her of a mix of how Ivy and Zack argues and Chase and Zari.

"We really shouldn't be back here."

She hears more clearly as the door opens behind them.

"All of our things are here; all we need to do is grab it all and leave."

Turning her attention towards Carmen, she tries to read the other girls emotion. It's hard however and she is wondering what is going through her head. At least it sounds like they are scared and as the door closes behind them, Carmen starts to rise, and Julia follows.

"Le Chevre, El Topo."

Carmen speaks up and Julia can see how the two men freezes up at the sound of Carmen's voice, fear shining bright in their eyes as they land on the two of them.

"Black Cheep?"

Le Chevre somehow managed to get out and Julia can see how they are slowly backing towards the front door once more, only to be stopped as Shadowsan has entered through the door without them realising it. Seeing how Carmen crosses her arms, Julia rolls her eyes, knowing fully well how much the woman beside her hates hearing that name.

"Jean-Paul, Antonio I presume your name is right?"

Julia asks, taking a step forward as she does, knowing fully well that Carmen is now too angry to handle this with a clear head. After all the things that group put her through, Julia can't really blame her partner and she guess this is also one of the main reasons as why Carmen had asked the Chief for her to come along.

Feeling how the two V.I.L.E agent's turn their attention towards her, Julia she takes the two of them in properly since they entered their own home. She can see that the two of them have changed, gone are V.I.L.E mission suites and their normal rigged poster from the few times she has seen them in actions and Julia realises that they have nothing to do with today's heist, they are simply in the wrong town at the wrong moment.

"You two aren't here for the heist that is going down tonight, are you?"

She asks, feeling it is just better to ask them right out about what is going on. Seeing how the two, what she now has figured out, former V.I.L.E agents looks at one Julia turns her own attention towards Carmen, and she can see how her own partner starts to relax slightly.

"V.I.L.E is active again?"

El Topo asks, and Carmen nods her head at this and Julia steps back, letting her take over this time around.

"Yes, you two haven't heard anything about this. It's been all over the news."

She points out and seeing how the two of them shakes their heads, Shadowsan moves away from the door, probably feeling he doesn't have to block it anymore.

"We have made sure to stay as far away from our old life as possible, we are quite happy with our new one."

Le Chevre tells them, and Julia starts to smile at this, seeing how the goat man is reaching out for his partners hand, a clear signal for support.

"And I presume neither of you want to get back if V.I.L.E decided to come knocking?"

Julia asks and seeing how the two of them shakes their heads, Julia turns to look at Carmen, a silent conversation going on between the two of them. She can see that Carmen is a bit hesitant towards her idea of what to do, but she can also see that the scarlet thief knows there is no other way.

"Player, can you fix up a new apartment place for these two, one that can't be traced to them or the taco truck. And inform The Chief that Le Chevre and El Topo is no threat to A.C.M.E nor are they friends of V.I.L.E anymore."

Carmen speaks up and Julia starts to smile, happy that the other woman decided to agree. Her smile dips however when she sees the narrowed eyes being turned towards Le Chevre and El Topo.

"I'm giving the two of you this chance out, mess this up or join V.I.L.E, I will make sure the two of you ends up as far away from one another as possible."

She tells them and Julia can feel how her eyes grows in surprise, knowing fully well that the two young men in front of her has the same facial expression.

"New covers for the goat and mole are coming right up Red."

Julia can hear Player respond and she is quite happy to younger hacker didn't hear what she has just said. Realising there is a lot more badges they will need to go through, Julia decides that for now, the only thing Carmen needs is her being there. Reaching for the other woman's hand, Julia hops that the two men in front of her will keep to the good side, she would hate to see Carmen go down that dark road once more.
